Down to the Wire!

Hey everyone! well we are in the TEENS of moving!! we only have 18 days until we will have loaded our uhaul and said our goodbyes! Its a sad, sad thought!  Its also an exciting new adventure. Moving to a place where we can explore, is something i am looking forward to! Traverse is somewhere we have visited, and its where brian proposed, but to live there is a new game.

Brian put in an application on a house yesterday! its in a small town-- which we love! its on the outskirts of traverse, but close enough to enjoy the "city" but far enough out to have some peace and quiet! We are kind of excited about this house, because the landlord is going to let me paint, the bus goes by for slade, it has a big yard and a deck (slades SUPER excited about the deck) ! All things will happen the way they should, we just have to wait it out. Plus, we will know our neighbor! out of all the houses in the traverse city area, we applied for the house next door to someone we went to school with. Its the ONLY family we knew of that lived out that way, and its pretty funny that out of all the houses, we will be next door.... that is IF we get the house.  we should find out in the next few days. If not we have a couple of other options, but not one we WANT to go for, but if we have to, we will. We are on a waitlist for an apartment, but it doesnt except pets and we didnt know that until just recently, so that is out of the question. Then brian got shown some trailers yesterday...... Its not what we want, but it will be a house for a small period of time, until we find the RIGHT house for us. At this point, we just need something, and this house that came along is perfect.... so here is to hoping!

I have to point out that Brian is amazing. He is taking on the house hunting, which is something he doesnt normally do. I trust him with all my heart, and he knows what i like, so if he says i will love it, i will love it. Plus he is taking some of the stress off of me, which is nice. I tend to FREAK out and that just causes tension, so i will let him hold the reigns for once! ha! Plus i have alot to stress over right now!

So we had a lot of drama here in housing and it happened the night before brian left for this detachment. it was a domestic situation that led to a shooting.I know its not my place to type about it, because i do not know all the details, nor is it my business. I feel terrible for being paranoid, but it was my wall to wall neighbor and her family. They are REALLY KIND people. It was a fluke thing, so i know that my anxiety got the best of me. Anyways, for the first week, i was scared that someone was going to come back and my nerves were "shot".... there has been alot of commotion and its sad to say that she moved out, and now i feel this sense of relief, and worry is off of my shoulders. I know that is a horrible thing, and i never felt any differently for her, if anything i felt sorry for her and her two kids..... because she was/ is a kind woman who has just been through, A LOT!!! my worry wasnt with her, my worry was with the ex husband/friends. Now that her moving is over, and i have an empty house next door to me, i feel a little safer. I know that is a horrible thing to say, but its true. Like i said, i have no ill feelings toward her, only sympathy....... But this pointed out to me, that no matter how safe you feel, something could ALWAYS happen!!  Now i am not losing sleep over loud banging noises, and being paranoid, but now i am losing sleep over a damn bird nest with babies in the gutter below our bedroom window, and mice in the attic of either our house or our neighbors. Called housing to get rid of them, so lets see what happens! I guess what i was getting at with all of this, is that i can't wait to sleep SOUND again, when brian is home! I don't own a baseball bat, but i have a heavy duty curtain rod next to my side of the bed, so burglars better watch out ;) bahahaa....

Kendal is potty training right now. And i forgot how TIME SUCKING and frustrating it can be! ITs also REALLY rewarding of course!! She is in that stage where its hit or miss on the potty, and if she doesnt potty while she is sitting there, she is sure to pee in her undies less than five minutes from getting up from the potty. we go through about well 14pairs of undies a day... hahaha. Glad its my last potty training run through...... haha. Its all worth it, but at this point I am fried, and i am ready for an extra set of hands to join in and help!

We have so many fun things going on in the next few days that im looking forward to it so much!! on Saturday we are having a yard sale.... also on saturday brian comes home in the afternoon, and later that evening i am going on a girls night for appetizers/drinks and MAGIC MIKE! Im sooo excited for that. Then on sunday we are going to motor world for a reward for sladen being great while bri was gone. then Tuesday night we have DATE NIGHHHHHT!!!! and wednesday is 4th of july, so we are having a bbq with friends. Brian has a 5 day weekend....... its just alot to look forward to and im excited!!! Not to mention sissy turns 2 in a couple of weeks! like 16 days!! wow!

Well lets see, i think i have run out of things to say! i know there is more i wanted to type about, but its nearly 11 and i am not showered and i am still in my jammies and sipping coffee. Talk about LAZY BUM! need to get my biscuits in gear!

Have a WONDERFUL rest of your week!!

Future is awaiting......

Hello!

Well i think that it is safe to say, that  i had given up on that blog challenge. Whats new right? I always give up on those kinds of things.I felt as if no one was reading it so what was the point of answering those questions? I mean i already knew the answer! Also, I have had alot on my mind and alot going on so taking the time to do those wasn't a priority. It has been nearly a month since I have wrote, and I thought it was time to take the time out to write.

It is mid June and we are officially out of the military in a short month. A MONTH. For something I dreaded but did anyway, i have grew to love the lifestyle, other than deployments. Its a scary thought to get out. Part of me says we are idiots for leaving all these benefits and things, to a world where we essentially have nothing set up. Its scary, its nerve racking, its confusing, and frustrating, its sad and happy, its everything.

Leaving Virginia beach is, i think BY FAR the hardest so far. Leaving michigan for the first time was hard, but i was so excited to finally be back with brian after bootcamp and training that the adventure seemed exciting. I was ready to have my own place again so moving was sad to leave my parents and family, but it was easier than i expected. Once we moved to dc, we realized the apartment we had, wasnt in the best of neighborhoods. So we decided to find a house on the outskirts of town. SO moving there was a blessing.... Not sad, plus it wasnt like we were moving states away, just 20 minutes.  After we lived in maryland we had to move here. I had made some good friends in DC that saying goodbye to was super difficult, but yet it wasn't a hard move because i had things to look forward too. Like my friend holly was moving here too... (that never worked out) .... and virginia beach seemed exciting and a wonderful change from "Bang, bang and not walking around my neighborhood".. okay it wasnt THAT bad there, but it definitely wasnt HERE! I do miss the HOUSE we lived in while in maryland but wasnt sad to leave, other than friends. So we got here, got settled and got deployment thrown on our plate. I made 2 really great friends Erin & Lindsy, so when we moved to michigan for deployment it was sad to leave them, but i knew we were coming back. And we did. Again when i left michigan after living there for the summer, and i was excited to get back here, for many reasons. I missed my friends. I missed the ocean, and most of all, i missed my husband, and moving back brought me closer. So as it was hard to once again leave my family, i had things to look forward too. Anyways, i guess what i am getting at, is this isnt going to be an easy move for me. My heart weighs heavy. I look at the Certo family as being OUR FAMILY. i love Jaiden almost as much as i love my own kids, and Lindsy is a sister to me. We don't have family out here, and i like to look at them as our adopted family. When sladen had his first "program" at chopsticks,  i know this would have been something my family would have flocked to, with all their camera's, support and love, but they couldnt be here; but lindsy and jaiden were there, with their cameras, support and love, and that my friends is amazing.I know they wont replace MY real family, and that isnt what i want either. My only sister, is my only sister and i love her more than anything. BUT when you dont have anyone, it feels good to have someone that is almost as good as who you have back home. Jaiden and our kids are so close. Jaiden calls sissy, well, sissy. So leaving them, is going to be tough. 3 days a week (sometimes more) we spend with lindsy and jaiden. Whenever we go somewhere as a family, they come along, or we go along with them. I will miss them so freaking much. And Erin & the turtle family i will miss as well. Erin and i havent spent much time together in a while, but it isnt because we dont want to, its because we are both trying to do things we need to do to move away, she has a job, wes has school, and our husbands are on different schedules. Just because we dont spend much time together anymore, doesnt mean its going to make it easier to leave them. Tommy & Erin helped me so much when Brian was away. and for that, i am grateful. You know you have them when you need them, and they know they have you when they need you. The friends i have made are unbelieveable, and that is what i will miss. Along with spending our days at the beach, seeing palm trees and warm weather. Running on the boardwalk, the endless festivals and things to do, im going to miss it all. I feel "home" here. BUT its time to get back to my REAL home, Michigan. Its time to get close to family again, its time for alot of things. So sad I am to leave, i do have things to look forward to.

The plan for moving back to michigan has changed a few times. But this is the change that is going to stay. Brian has applied for Northwestern Michigan college, which is in traverse city. He is going to be going for aviation. He is shooting for his dream of becoming a commercial pilot. He had toddled around the idea of being a nurse, and some other things, but he just cant, and doesnt want to settle. I have known this boy since he was in the 5th grade, and out of anything and everything he has EVER talked about that has REMAINED the same, is his dream of being a pilot. Now is his time to do that. As much as it hurts to not be able to live where i want to live, and still be hours away from my family, is a sacrifice that i have to make. I have to stand by that man because i love him more than i could ever explain. And giving up what I WANT, to give him what he wants for our family, is the only thing i can and will do. I am extremely proud of the man he is and i know he will make it. One thing that scares me,  tho, is we have nothing as far as a place to live and well, a job for me. Those are small things right?! HA! I am OVER stressed and done worrying. Things will work out, they have to.

Traverse City is beautiful. But not my "home". I will learn to love it i am sure. THe thought of being 45 minuets away from my parents, an hour away from my sister, and 20 mins from my friend steph, and like 5 mins from my other friends in bay city was really awesome, but now that isnt to happen. I had schools planned out for sladen. I had sitters and friends lined up. I had running buddies and things of those sorts BASED in Bay city area, and now the plans are changed. Now i have to find a school for sladen, which i have NO CLUE of where, i have to line up a day care or something of that sort for sis while i am working. None of this is easy, nor is it impossible. Changes are something i am used to, and this, i will deal with as well.

So those are the plans. Now you all know. Oh i just want to point out that looking at the map, seeing traverse city and seeing that just across lake michigan is WISCONSIN, where one of my greatest friends ALI lives is a cool thought. now just to learn to swim across it ;)

Well i know i have dragged this on for a while now, and most of you are probably bored out of your minds. but there it is. there is our new plan. Final details need to be sorted, but the map is laid and the count down is on.
