Tricks as fast as lightening

Sis just learned how to roll from her belly to her back today! Its her new favorite thing to do! She is growing so fast! Makes me happy and sad all at the same time. The excitement slade had for her when she rolled for the first time was so awesome to witness! Slade yelled "SIS JUST FLIPPED!!" it was sooo cute. we were all playing on the floor when she did it the first time. it was really awesome to share that time with the big brother. Dont worry daddy didnt miss it, i sent him a video message from my phone. so he got to see the action too :)

Sladen got an upgrade on his powerwheels. daddy put a second battery in, so he now needs a helmet when he rides, and daddy even installed a seatbelt. yeah its really that fast. I need to shoot another video of it so you can actually see how fast it is. Brian has to peddle like a mad man to keep up. I dont think i dare to run next to this car now ;) However, Sladen is really excited to have that happen to his car. He thinks he's the coolest thing since sliced bread. Makes my day!

I tried to post the video of sladen driving his newly upgraded car, but it wouldnt let me so i will try again later. sorry :( that bums me out!

I just Dont understand

Okay, so as a military wife, i have been warned that other military wives, not all, but some, are really "out there" as in weird and raise their families in strange ways. Well, I havent really came accross this being true, until We moved here, into base housing. In a week and a half I have saw 3 different children under the age of 3, walking around aimlessly when their parents have no FUCKING clue on where they are at!! HOW IN THE HELL DOES THIS HAPPEN!!?? Here are my 2 encounters that involves 3 different children.

Encounter 1: I was on the phone with my mom and sitting at my dining room table which faces out at the street. I was gabbing and staring into the street just gazing around, until i saw this little blonde haired girl in a DIAPER in 50 degree weather, OUTSIDE, with no parent. When i first saw her she stayed on the grass, then eventually she worked herself onto the sidewalk, then onto the street. She was kind of "lost" looking and I was really concerned. I kept my eyes on her just watching. I didnt want to jump to any conclusions or run out their, incase she was infact being watched by a mother. But then a little boy comes out in a diaper as well. This went on for a good 10 minutes. then finally I seen a mother. their mother. She walks right passed them as if nothing was wrong, then they follow like little ducklings. She NEVEr once looked back to make sure they were okay and following. Made it back to their house and made THEM open the door after it closed behind her. I just couldnt believe it. But i had my eye on them poor little "ducklings".

Encounter 2: Tonight brian and i were getting the kids ready to head out to the store when our doorbell rings. Brian answered the door and there stood 3 young/little girls. 2 of them were older i would say around 8 or 9. They asked brian "are you her daddy?" as they pointed to a little brunette haired girl.  Brian told them no with kind of a snicker, and then they procceeded to tell him that this little girl no older than 2 was in the circle median of the culdesac just walking around looking for her "daddy". His smile went off his face, and I went to the door as i heard them talking about this "lost" little girl. She had no idea where she lived, she did not know her name, (im sure she did but she was scared and wasnt really talking).  these older girls were trying hard to find her parents, so brian and I started to help, looking around for parents in search of their missing child, but there was noone, noone had realized they lost their kid?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!  so after probably 15 minutes, here comes this mom in her pajama's, looked like she just woke up from a nap saying aloud "lexi...?".... not shouting LEXI! not scared to death that her daughter was aimlessly trying to find her daddy! but just non shalantly calling her name is if it were no big deal that half the court was looking for this little girls home. The most heartbreaking, sickening part of the whole situation is that this little girl had two different shoes on and they both were on the wrong feet, so you know she did that herself. I know how long it takes slade to get shoes on, so this mother was simply not watching her child for a long period of time. I just wanted to shake this mother. and to come out not really caring and sleepy eyed in your pajama's....how can you do that?! I just dont understand, and it makes me SO sick to my stomach. In one second your child could be taken from you, she (the mother) should have been scared to death....but she wasnt. Now im not saying she isnt a good mother or anything like that. I have no idea, nor am i jumping to conclusions on what type of mother she was/is....but how does this type of thing happen? It just made me Sick.

Another one of my neighbors introduced her daughter to me, so that if i ever saw her outside alone and looking around I would know where she belonged!! I was dumb-founded. simply dumb-founded.

I guess i just dont understand.

Rice Cereal and a Frozen account

Well sis is now 4 months old so she has been able to try the baby rice cereal, she has had 3 encounters and the expieriences are as follows: the first time she had it she screamed bloody murder as if i were stabbing her in the heart with a rubber tipped spoon, I dont think she swallowed but maybe a morsel. 2nd encounter goes a little something like this: Sis was sitting in her bumbo all full of smiles and coo's, until that damned rubber tipped spoon hit her heart again, except this time she actually swooshed it around in her mouth in utter disgustment, spitting and gagging; needless to say, that smile went away REAL quickly. Finally it led us to our 3rd encounter, of which i taped for all to see. I will give her credit, she did give it another try as the dreaded spoon hit her lips. But I still dont believe she has really swallowed any, just put it in her cheeks then spit it right back out! Although, we have gotton somewhere with this....at least she doesnt scream as if i were stabbing her, or cry! So thats something right?!

Last Night I decided to go give Santa a little visit. In other words, I went christmas shopping. Kmart runs a military discount (which is always nice around the holidays) on tuesdays and they still do layaway which is awesome. so My friend Holly and I went to do our shopping. We excitedly slipped things that we knew our kids would love, right into our carts, got finished with all of the toys and gadgets and headed ourselves to the layaway department. Holly went first, all went well with big smiles on her face. Then it was my turn, all was going well, until i swipped my card to put my first payment down. the words DECLINED showed up on the screen. WHAT?! so I tried it again.....DECLINED!!! I was dumbfouned because i KNOW we have plenty of money in our account. So like they say THIRD time is a charm......NOT!!! DECLINED! I was mortified, but yet KNEW i had the money. So i called 800 number on the back of my card, and said our account was FROZEN due to suspicious FRADULENT charges! They couldnt speek with me on the matter because im not the PRIMARY account holder, so I had to leave without my layaway. Got home, brian had already been on the phone with them. Turns out it was MY fault. I purchased the Kids's highchair seats and booster online yesterday, and since the shipping would be comming from TEXAS, the bank sought it as suspicious since there was NO way that WE could be in TEXAS! so i guess in a good way, THANK YOU NAVY FEDERAL! but WHAT a pain in the ASS! so back I went to KMART to finally put my stuff in layaway! I am happy and content and what a reliefe!

Am I Crazy?

Okay so, i am thinking of looking for a Babysitter. But since I am SO leary of babysitters, because, well, you just never know these days as to who you can trust and who you cant. Since we know NOONE around here that has a spare couple of hours Once or twice a week in the evening to watch the kids (who doesnt already have their hands full with their own children), I am thinking of using a website to test out a few of them (babysitters that is). So with that being said, I am looking at Nanny Cams. Am I crazy? Is that a bit too much?! Do any of you have them?

Its hard for me to leave my kids with family, let alone just anybody. But I believe this needs to happen, and I believe its healthy for kids to have a babysitter that they grow to love and trust. When i was growing up I had one, and still to this day, she is like family!

So I guess what I am asking is Am I crazy for trying a website? and inturn crazy to want nanny cams to see what the babysitter is doing?!

A New Begining

Well Hello Readers!

I havent Blogged in a while, Alot, i mean ALOT, has happened in our lives over the past month! We have moved out of our old house in Maryland, Drove to our new house in Virginia Beach, Unpacked, Vacationed to Michigan for 2.5 weeks, and alot of other hodge podge things happened to the Houts family along the way!

We packed up the little ol' house in maryland, and when I say we... I really mean, ME! It would have been so much easier (lazier, but still easier) To have the movers come in and box it up for me, like i had originally wanted, but alas, hubby got what he wanted so we could make extra money.  One of his reasonings for not wanting the movers to move our stuff is "they will break all the stuff or damage it, it happens all the time!"......Well i can name numerous things that got broken and or damaged while we did it ourselves, but Hey....we made it here with all of our things right?!  Brian also had pinky promised me that I wouldnt have to move a box out of the old house-into the moving truck, or out of the moving truck-into the new house.....but guess what?! I had too. So needless to say, When we move from here... THE NAVY IS MOVING US! Im really not trying to be lazy, with having the movers do it for me, but i have moved us 7 times since the age of 20 and that is alot of times ...5 of which in the past 2 years! Stick a fork in me....Im done! Plus, it feels like I am never going to be done putting this house together! before we left to vacation in Michigan, 2 days after we moved here to great ol' Virginia Beach....i had all the furniture and most of the pictures on the walls and arranged. But when we got into Michigan, brian had 2 more days of work left so when he returned to DC, he brought along a 90 gallon Fish tank from MIchigan, and ever so "Neatly" (hahahaa NOT) placed it in the livingroom, only to leave me getting home from vacation to clean and re-arrange yet again. Not to mention the cable finally got hooked up so Keni and Slades room had to be rearranged as well! OY!! but, I think I FINALLY have everything where it needs to go. Only things left is to Organize 2 closets and decorate OUR bedroom. OOOOO I cant wait!!! Our room is HUGE and Brian is letting me get nice stuff to decorate it with, Oy, Im so excited. Its going to be an "escape" for every ending to every day......... sounds so nice doesnt it?!

We all love our new house! its pretty spacious. It doesnt feel like we are squished in a shoe box like our old place. I really thought i would miss it, cause it was so super cute and cozy.....But I dont! I feel much safer, and much cozier here in Virginia Beach. Base Housing isnt all that bad! We sure didnt draw the short straw when it came to where our house is placed. We got an end house which means less noise from neighbors and more windows! CHA CHING! then we got lucky and a playground is pretty much in our side yard....Double CHA CHING! the only thing that i miss from the old house, is a larger yard! I think our driveway was larger at the old place than our entire yard here at the new house. But its all nicely fenced in and i can see slade from everywhere in the downstairs when he is playing in the yard, so it gives him alot of independance, which he is blossoming with. The houseing has a big track like sidewalk that lines the perimeter of the huge housing complex, so i dont have to drive anywhere to go running....I love that...although i havent ran yet...hmm maybe i should get on that ;)

Being home in Michigan was really nice. Its always nice to see everyone or atleast try to see everyone! We got to enjoy lots of family, cider mills, pumpkin carving, trick or treating, and right before we left we got to enjoy kendal's baptism and her party after! It was a blessing to have so many people join us... it was a JOY!  Only one downer when we went home, was that I had a horrible infection in my body that put me at the hospital 3 days in a row for blood tests and such. Turned out to be a Kidney infection, but basically felt like I was dying, and the fever was AWEFUL! Ive never had JUST a fever. Ive always had all the flu symptoms to go with a fever. But when you just have a fever, you can feel your skin litterally burning off! Not a good feeling!!

When we got back home in VB, we have finished putting the house together and now we get to just enjoy adjusting to our new lifestyle. We have visited the ocean...........so freaking relaxing and peaceful, i could just live right there, on the beach! Traffic is SO much better than MD/DC! and everything is pretty close to our house, not too much driving around, which is ALWAYS nice!

Kenal is learning to sit up, she just turned 4 whole months old! Cant even believe it! She is now in her frog jumper on a daily/awake basis! she loves it, and it is strengthing her so much! she is learning how to grasp her toys, and she has found her fingers and is amazed everytime she sees them! hehe....it has to be one of the cutest things ever! She is sleeping really good and she has tried the rice cereal, and sad to report she wasnt a fan! but we will keep trying! I cant wait to start giving her baby food! thats always a fun part of babies growing! Sladen is adjusting REALLY well!! he LOVES his new house. he is a blossoming little boy...blossoming right into a major attitude! I sure have my hands full. Hopefully he snaps out of that soon, its very uncharacteristic of him, but i guess they all go through that......its really frustrating at times. His best friend Mason still lives close to us, so he still has someone to play with until we make other friends as well. That sounded wrong, I should say, he has 1 friend for now, until we make more.....Does that sound better?! I didnt mean it to sound rude or anything.....

Brian had a few days on his new job so far, and he has come home with a gigantic smile on his face everytime. which is awesome to see. I know that wont last long, but it sure is inspiring to see that. He is in love with airplanes and jets, so for him to be able to be around them all day everyday is so exciting to him! and being on the flightline makes him feel a little closer to his main goal in life....being a pilot. I believe he will get there someday, and this is just a foot in the right direction!  We found out that he is going on a 7 month deployment this comming year.....details arent finalized yet....but we do know he WILL be going. Thats okay though. Its all part of it. We are strong enough for it, and its the life we chose. It will be hard at times, but also so worth it in the end!

Now that a wrote a novel, i think i am done. I know i have more to say but i will write again soon! its so nice to have an outlet on here. Even if alot of people dont read it :)

have a wonderful day!
