Well Hello!
Its been almost a week since I have last posted, and believe it or not there has been quite a bit of happenings here at our house! Lots of drama with Brian's "truck" he "Sold". Baby sitter debacle, wedding fun, play dates, Stress related days, and a change of pace. My mind is on overload with trying to find a place to live from this far away, and I feel like I am on a whole different planet all together. But last night i learned, that what i am going through right now is normal, and that i am in-fact not just a crazy woman, many of us are crazy right now! I'm Just a normal woman going through a very stressful time, and I guess that in-turn makes us look and feel crazy. But hey, I guess that is Okay. Somewhere under all that stress is the same old me. Just a little more fowl lately, and a lot more scatter brained. Brian says "the high school Aly"is back, where shit doesn't fly and everyone gets a piece of my mind, my mom also calls it "the aly who gets shit done!". Im not proud of the raging indian flowing through my blood right now, but whatever i am going through right now, will soon go away and i will just be focusing on the homecoming and my kids!
We had a deployment briefing last night. PHEW!!! CAN YOU SAY OVERWHELMING! when i heard get a "will and power attorney done" I think thats when my mind started freaking out a little bit. They are sailors, they aren't on the front line, they are on a ship! so i guess i never really thought that there is a possibility of hell breaking loose, but i guess thats not something you think about on a daily basis, until it is brought to your attention! All the things you have to talk about and get done before they leave, yadda yadda. My brain was SMOKING when we were walking out of there! I dont bask in the military Lingo, so with all the acronyms and military speak I was rather frazzled. Not to mention all the info that was just thrown in my face! All though i did learn alot, and i heard some coping mechanisms that we are going to use here at our house. Sladen got a book about daddy being "there" and him being "here". We read it last night, and he just looked at the pictures and listened to me. No questions yet, but i know they will be coming. I've been talking to him the best I can, but it's not something he is going to grasp until daddy is physically NOT present. I dont think it would be this hard if brian wasn't such a hands on dad and husband, but he is, which is making it that much harder! Last night we got an idea from one of the speakers to get a big jar and fill it with the number of "hugs & Kisses" (chocolates) that daddy is going to be away, and each night he can get a hug or a kiss from daddy, and watch the jar deplete, and anticipate the arrival of daddy. We both liked that idea and so that is something we will be getting started here soon so that it is ready for when brian actually leaves. Enough of that talk. On to the next topic.
Brian sold his truck, which you already know about. BUT what you dont know, is that even though he got paid, signed the title over and sold it AS IS, its not "completely" sold. The woman who purchased it lives right across the street. Word from the wise, NEVER SELL ANYTHING TO A NEIGHBOR! brian sold the truck with a crack in the windshield, it was clearly there when she bought it and she knew about it. but somehow he ended up paying for half of it?! and it wasn't passing state inspections for small things like wiring and headlights being blue, brakes, and so on and so fourth. But who fixed everything, with money out of OUR pockets, brian. Who took it to every inspection and picked him up while waiting for the truck to be finished, then driving him BACK to pick it up, US. Mind you it had like 4 or 5 inspections, all of which he needed to be picked up to leave HER truck and then drive him back so he could drive it back to HER. I was at my witts end and thats being mild about it. Brian was trying to be the nice neighbor, but hell to the no! him and I couldn't talk to eachother for several hour yesterday over it. Thank god its done and over with, we wiped are hands clean, it finally passed inspection and it is no longer OUR problem. Granted she is a nice enough lady but with everything going on right now, i really didnt need that stuff to be happening and hogging our days and nights with problems that arent even ours anymore, hence why we sold it, so we would have LESS stress, not MORE!
Saturday we had a wedding for a co-worker of Brians. We had our normal sitter hillary to watch the kids. Last minute we got a email from her that she couldnt make it because of mandatory graduation meeting. But because sitter city delayed her email we didnt get it until the day of, and hours before. So thank goodness our friends and so conveniently our neighbors had lent us their services! UGH THANK YOU AGAIN! we had a wonderful time, the kids were great for erin and tommy, and the night was wonderful! Very beautiful wedding! and I had a great time. I think the best part was getting all dolled up! i got a spray tan, a pretty dress, i did my hair all fancy and had make up caked on! I hadn't gotton that dressed up in a while, and I felt like a million bucks! Our friends the Certo's were there and it was just a great evening!
I made alot of changes in my life as of late, and i have to say I am proud of them. I feel more like myself than i have in a long time. Even though i have stress levels through the roof, I feel these changes has improved me as a whole. I have been a in a very fowl mood, from stress levels and bull shit, and i have to say that all this indian running through my blood is making me and bringing back the "high school aly" which is what brian calls me as of late. The aly who doesnt let shit fly and tells everyone right where to go. My mom calls it "the aly who gets shit done". Although i am not PROUD of it, it is who i am and i can hold my own again and it feels pretty damn good. I got my voice back and my big girl panties. a part of me that has been gone has returned, no more mrs. nice girl. Look out world!
We have had alot of things this week, a girls night of shopping, bbq's, playdates. We had a playdate with Jaiden and lindsy, and that was alot of fun. We planted flowers and seedlings, we painted and had a blast. The boys got along so wonderfully and lindsy and I hit it off quite well if i do say so myself! She is going through this deployment phase with me, and she is a very strong woman. Also, our friend Janina came out this way and it was amazing to be able to see her and her little kiddo's.Slade was beside himself with joy for Nolan. She is a wonderful individual with great qualities and it was amazing to be able to see her, and that she came all the way here (from md) to see us and the wadleigh family. I hope to make it out her way sometime in the near future.
This week is off to a busy start, and being as busy as we have been these passed few days and weeks have made grocery shopping suffer, and IT NEEDS to happen!! we are running low! and Slade isnt forgiving at all.....hahaha!!!
Well i think that is it!! i hope everyone has a great week!

The Gap Is Closing!
I can't believe that March is already almost completely over with! Time is really flying by, and Im so full of emotions that I can' even begin to describe them, or how i feel. Since March is almost over and April is approaching, so is Leave! And leave means to get away from here and spend some quality time in Michigan! Although Our leave time is cut short this time around, i Promise I will make it up to you all. During April's visit, I might not be able to see all of you, BUT during Some of May, June, July, August, September,October, And Most of November will be PLENTY of time to squeeze you in, don't you think? Yes you read Correctly, 6 months. The kids and I will be finding a place to rent and move into while Brian is away on Deployment. So I guess what I am trying to say, is that we are MOVING HOME! And moving home puts a huge smile on my face. There was alot factoring in on this decision, and we have been talking about it for about a month now. Going back and fourth and weighing out our options. At this point and time, this is what is best for me and my kids. Being around a plethora of family and friends, giving me a SUPPORT system is really what it is about. I have created friendships out here, And i will miss them, but when We move back in November, I will be able to not only look forward to reuniting with my husband, but reuniting with my friends. and that Is something to look forward to. I just think it will be amazing to be around the people who know me best, to be able to see the kids as much as they want to, and to enjoy the fun things that michigan brings in the summer/fall/winter time! Like the pig gig, the river roar, the fire works, trick or treating in my old neighborhood, the bonfires, family functions, the fair, MY NEICE AND NEPHEW, AND being home for THANKSGIVING and the kids' BIRTHDAYS! just everything in general. And being around all of this is going to make our time fly by and make daddy come home faster in our minds. I really am not worried at how this looks, some people might say i am running away, but thats alright, that can be thought, i dont mind, because i know that i am not. And i know that i have 2 woman standing behind me and building my confidence with this situation. And those 2 woman will be here for me and have gone through deployments and know what i will be, and am going through. and understand how long 7 months actually is. So i just want to say thank you Lindsy and Erin on your encouraging words and your amazing support for the short time that i have known you.
I have a couple other friends here as well that i hope grow into something more, in due time!
I have a couple other friends here as well that i hope grow into something more, in due time!
On a different note, Brian sold his truck completely. It is no longer his. It is our across the street neighbor's truck. Feels good to not have 3 vehicles to worry about. He seems to be handling it just fine as well! And slade kind of understands it too. its weird to see it parked across from us!
Sis is a crawling MACHINE and she is SO fast! She is completely in 12 month clothing and size 4 shoes. She is waving as of this week, which is SO COOL! And she dances too, everytime she hears music! She is blossoming so fast, just wish her hair would keep up with the rest of her! hahaha! Sladen is amazing, and I dont think his imagination could grow any larger, but right after i say that he does something else and its just so cool to watch. Im teaching him to spell, and he can spell his "slade" and he starts to spell "HO..." (houts) but he doesnt quite finish. But i think he's doing awesome. (of course i do, im his momma).
I am Doing great on my diet. on my way to 14 pounds, slowly but surely! I went shopping the other day on a girls night, and I fit in a SIZE 10, i know a 10 is not small, but the way they make pants now a days, I will take a size 10!!!! you should have saw the smile on my face! yippeee!!! i also finally got my self a "boulder holder" that actually fits and wow is that awesome! after a couple more pounds its on to looking for a bathing suit! because great wolf lodge is on our agenda for MICHIGAN in april!
This weekend is jam packed with things to do. Tomorrow morning we are having a "welcome spring" party for our home school group. we are going to be using recycled containers to plant flowers. we are going to plant seeds and blossomed flowers for the kids to maintain, but yet watch grow! im still trying to figure out some other things for the kids to do. plus we are having snacks and just in general, lots of fun! Then friday night we have a bbq at the turtles, and saturday i hope to see my friend Janina, then saturday evening we have a wedding to attend. I CANT WAIT TO GET ALL DRESSED UP!! i have awesome heels, a sexy dress, i am going to get a spray tan and get my hair and makeup looking awesome, i cant even wait! Hopefully sunday is a relaxing day....hahah! THen on monday we have a deployment briefing to go to, so we have hillary 2 times in 3 days, Slade is going to LOVE it.However, i dont believe Sissy will!! and our wallets either....lmao!
I do believe that is all for now, i will write again in a couple of days! hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good Morning & Happy friday to you all!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful week or if you didnt have a wonderful work, I hope your weekend makes up for it.
This week we have had alot going on here at our house. Brian is in the midst of selling his truck. I had stated in the previous post that he was thinking about it, but he had actually put for sale signs on it, and not an hour later we had a bite. 3,000 cash in hand, right then (he was asking 3,300 obo). Well that sounded enticing, but brian's face turned ghost white and asked to have the night to sleep on it. So of course she said absolutely. The next day came around and he had decided to tell her he would sell it to her. Well her husband is on deployment so it isnt a smooth passover with the truck and 3 grand like we all had thought. She had to take pictures one day and wait until the next to see if her husband liked it enough to buy, then that next day we had to go over all the questions she had from her husband, then she had to call around for inspection prices and all that jazz, so a "upfront 3 grand right now" turned into a 4, going on 5 day process. They are going to buy the truck, and they are really nice people, and they are our neighbors accross the street, but since her husband is away it has been dragging the process out. But we understand. And the kicker you ask? Well since her husband is away she asked brian to occasionally take it to work to keep it in running condition. Yeah thats really twisting his arm I'd say. So that's whats up with that.
We have had alot of troubles with wolfie this week. Im not really sure what is going on. I would like to know but i just have no clue. Im really out of patience with him. Almost to the point i would love to give up, but he is our child now, we adopted him, you cant just turn a kid back to where you birthed them just because you've had enough of them. Same with an animal. As much as i would love to let him run loose and not come back one day, I wouldnt do that. He is ours. He loves us, and even with all the destruction that comes with him, we love him too. Slade and him are really inseperable. Even after wolfie tore slades bike to shreds, he was in love with him again about an hour later. As i were still scouring the house in a rage of fury! He really is worse than a toddler in the midst of "terrible 2's". I can't really describe to you how he really is, you'd just have to see him in person to discover what wolfie really is about. We know the full meaning of why he was at the animal control, but we also dont know his past, and what caused him to be the way he is. I really think the previous owners had lacked in obedience and even attention given to him for that matter. I mean for crying outloud, he didnt even come to his name when he was being called for gosh sakes! He had to have been just pushed to the side. maybe they had a baby while wolfie was growing up and he got pushed out to make more attention room for the baby?! He's so good with kids so im assuming he was with children at his previous house, but i just dont know. we know nothing about this animal. But we are trying. Trying really hard, and its discouraging seeing that it isnt paying off yet. My friend Elizabeth had been helping us along. She noticed in pictures that i was having a hard time walking wolfie because of the pulling so she suggested a gentle leader. I purchased one but he still pulls through the pain. OY! she has been helping me giving me advice and such, and I really do appreciate it. Its just like being a mother of your children you seek advice in figuring out this growing creature!
Sis got a walker this week, and boy does she LOVE it!! she gets that thing moving on the hard floors and outside on our patio. She gets such a big smile on her face, because she is being independent. She sure is getting big, FAST! her and slade are starting to play more and more, but she is taking his toys more and more, and boy does that create animosity! But i think that happens with all siblings. She can hold her own though let me tell you!! This morning slade was laying on the couch (well he still is) but she was in her walker next to the couch and since he was watching cartoons and not paying attention to her, she started yelling at him and hitting the tray on her walker. As soon as he would look at her she would smile, then he would look back at toonies and she would yell again. Finally he said "sis, stop being mean to me, im still tired". its so cute to see the interaction between the two of them. I hope they keep this bond for a long time. I know it will get rough at times, but i hope "all in all" they remain close knit.
Im up to 12 pounds in weight loss! I'm fiting into alot of my old clothes and it feels great. Jeans that i havent fit into for like a year and a half (or longer) Im sliding into, and does that ever put a smile on my face. Im not looking to be rail thin or anything, just healthy. Who knows, after my first goal of 20 pounds I may just be finished, and just try to maintain that weight. I havent really decided yet, but i am starting to feel really good!
Brian and I have date night tonight. Havent decided on what we are doing, but we haven't had date night in a long time, over a month, so its going to be really nice. Its nice to spend a couple hours with the hubby alone, and get to wake up with the kids the next morning recharged and refreshed. Thats a great feeling. Date nights have to be one of the best things we have ever decided to do for ourselves. Something we both look forward to. and slade looks forward to our sitter Hillary! Sis isn't really sold on the sitter, but she is on her way to bed when hillary is here, so it all works out. (most of the time).
I know i had alot more on my mind to talk about on here, but right now im at a loss as to what to say next so im going to be done. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Spring Ahead!
Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful Weekend!! We sure did!! We kept ourselves busy and enjoyed the wonderful sunny 70 degree weather! I must say its wonderful to have warm weather, but 70's in march is a bit much, i mean sweating in spring isnt a good feature. Brian and Slade washed the truck with shorts on yesterday, and flip flops. While all my friends and family in Michigan are still wearing winter coats, hats and boots! Thats such a crazy thought to me. I am trying to enjoy the warmth as much as possible, because when we move back to michigan in 2012 its going to be SHOCKING. BUT moving back brings me to smiles because it gives me winters. actual winters where you can go sledding, snowboarding, SNOWMOBILING, all the fun stuff winter brings. Not only that, but people can actually drive with more than a inch of snow on the ground in Michigan; here, not so much. I don't drive when we get snow here. Not because i am afraid or anything. Its because people around here drive like maniacs and they are more damaging and frantic than the road conditions themselves. We live like 3 miles from brian's base, and it took him over an hour to get home from work during one of the "snow storms". Pure craziness!! Anyways, i really didnt want to sit here and write about winter, but i guess it happened. Moving on.
This weekend we "Sprung Forward!" and boy has it thrown me off!!! Last night we were eating dinner and I Freaked when i saw the clock say 6 o'clock. i mean, normally the kids are out of the bathtub or almost done with their nighttime bath at that time, and when im off schedule it just throws me for a loop. brian just said "relax" and thats just what I did. But Keni's poor bath lasted about 10 minutes because "mean" mommy bathed her. Normally thats daddy's thing. Mommy cleans up the kitchen after dinner and daddy bathes and plays with the kids. He lets them sit in the bathtub until their little hearts are content. Me, not so much. when they are scrubbed and played for a couple minutes, thats it, were done, time to get jammed up! When i had finished and dressed keni, i brought her down for her bottle and brian said "geesh, why didnt you let her play?!"....... that's how we are different, im strait and to the point, and daddy's fun. That's how its sopossed to be right?!
I have to say, i like to wake up with the sun coming up. It's way better than waking when it's still pitch black. Since my kids are early birds and like to catch their worms each morning, i guess so do i. So i have to say this time change is making me happy. they sleep until 7ish.....yay! hahaha. which in all actuality it is still their normal 6ish, but atleast the clock says its later, and that in itself is good to see!
Brian has done alot with me this weekend that he normally avoids. Like making the menu for the next 2 weeks. He searched through cooking magazines and recipe books, coming up with an array of new ideas and meals. We then headed off to the farmers market to check it out and get fresh products. It was a really cool expierience. They have a butcher there, a fresh bakery and a fresh seafood joint, along with a bunch of other vendors and shops. Which brings me to my next topic. Seafood. When i was younger i was alergic to fish/seafood and such. Ive always been terriffied to try it again because who really wants to know their throat is swelling and their tongue is swollen and itchy?! nuh uh. not a good feeling. But watching commercials lately with seafood it has gotton me curious to try it. now we think im allergic to the iodine in shell fish and seafood, so we tried tuna steaks since i can eat canned tuna, we thought tuna steaks would be a start. We tried something different and cooked together. it was a really fun experience. one we are going to incorporate throughout our life. LOVED IT! anyways the hubby looked up a recipe, asked me if we had the ingredients and away he went. pouring and measuring to make the marinade. I was prepping the side dishes for a very healthy meal. He grilled it and everything. I have to admit, my anxiety aside, it was VERY good! it had GREAT AMAZING flavor, and knowing hubby cooked it was all the better!! Might i add, he was in 7th heaven with getting to eat fish!!! Even sladen ate it. he's a tough crowd when it comes to food, so for him to eat it, that's quite impressive. So all in all, it was a great weekend full of new adventures and new habits.
The weather was amazing and the boys took full advantage of sucking up the sun by washing brians truck. They are getting ready to sell it, so they shined her up really pretty. I know alot of you who are reading this know how much brian has put into his "baby" and how much he loves it. But it's grown up time. He had his fun in it, and he says its time to get practical. So with my being more sad than him about selling it, i guess i just have to let him do it. Slade and Him really love going places together and working on it. But i think with selling it and saving for a car that they can work on and enjoy together, will be the cherry on top. Brian's always wanted to save it for slade so he can have it when he turns 16. but it wont be worth much by then brian says so i guess its time for someone else to have it. Its just sad to let go of it for me because ive seen all the things sladen has learned and done with brian in that truck. and the smiles on their faces while working on it I will never forget. But its time to move on. (i know im talking like we are giving away a child, but you have to fully grasp how much of a child this truck is to brian!!!!) While in boot camp, brian wrote me to ask me to send pictures of his truck to him. he also wrote in letters to ask where i was keeping his truck and to see how "she" was doing, now if that isnt love, what is....hahaha.
Sis is really motivating, she more or less hops when she "crawls" its not very "smooth" yet but she is getting there. Brian is amazed by this. I think he forgets that i am the one here with them all day, and since he is at work and he doesnt get to see it all day, when he finally does he says " HEY MOM COME LOOK!!". its too cute that he is so excited for her and i always hate bursting his bubble when i say "i know babe, shes been doing that for a couple of days!". But this passed week he taught her to say "daddy". She says "HI" and "daddy" now. so its so cute when she taps his legs and says "hi dada, daaaa daaaaaA". Something NOT so cute that she has learned this week too is scream!! she screams when shes mad, happy, excited, all her emotions result in a blood curdling scream. slade screams along with her. its funny to a point but wowzer! She also tried avacado last night and that didnt agree with her belly. so i think im just going to stick with what i know she can eat. trying new things is good, but i always feel bad when she yaks!
I havent updated on wolfie in a while. Quite frankly we understand to the full extent why the previous family had surrendered him. As much as he makes us mad, and hate him (for a minute) we love him unconditionally and we can't help but love his goofy ass. even when hes eaten 3 of slades bike peddles, a grill brush, a grill lighter, a duralog, and anything he can get his mouth on. Stolen slades star crunch, and about 5 biter biscuits from sissy. (and thats just the passed 5 days) And no, it isnt because he is bored. He's walked everyday, its just his personality. He's very spiteful as well. He's like marley (from marley and me). The whole time my parents were here he acted like a complete angel. listening to every command.... it was the best he's been SINCE we adopted him.....when they left, old habits set back in. Oh wolfie! We couldnt ask for a better behaved dog when it comes to no barking and getting pulled at by the kids. He's very mild manored with the kids but he's so rambunctious all at the same time. Its hard to explain but once you have seen it, you would totally understand. Slade and wolfie are best of friends, and that in itself is reason enough as to why he was brought to us.
Sladen is doing really good. i think he is growing so much right now. he is outgrowing all of his clothes and pajama's. which is good for him, but not for my wallet!! and so is sis!!! they both need a TON of clothes and pajama's. Dont really have alot of updates for sladen at the moment, just that he is growing and doing good. He's momma's little helper and such a great little guy.
Something is new with me though. I have decided to start a homeschool group. No i dont plan on home schooling, but sladen is dying to go to preschool and quite frankly i am not ready for him to go yet. so my result is getting other moms together that are willing to have their children learn, help with crafts and just have a good time doing it. Field trips and everything. I think it will be really a great thing. We have alot of kinks, and we havent "started" it yet, but its in the works and should start this week. Im pretty excited about it. I hope the other mom's are as well.
Well, that is all for now. have a wonderful week everyone.

Reflections
Some mornings when i am so cozy, comfy, warm, and still tired in my bed, and I hear that little grunt over the baby monitor at 5 am or i hear my door knob turn in a complete circle, i think to myself "oh how I miss the days of not having kids, and sleeping in". That thought lasts about 5 minutes until you get them downstairs and situated, and you watch them play, then that thought goes away. You now realize why you are a mother. Being a mother is full of questions and wonderings. I question myself alot of the times. My children are the biggest blessings in my life, but till this day I always think of what i would have become if we would have waited to make our family. Whether the circumstances, we made our family, for the right reasons at the time god wanted us too, and i wouldnt change a thing, but it still makes you wonder.Would i be graduated from college by now? Would i be in the career I hoped and dreamed for? Where would I be living? Would brian and I survived our relationship? What would I be doing on my down time? I dont think you ever stop wondering. Being a mother has prepared me for challenges in my life and I know "pre-children" days i wouldnt be as creative with challenges put in front of me. I wouldnt be as responsible and sensible. I would probably be going out drinking at the bar as much as alot of people i graduated with. But would I rather be doing that then reading bedtime stories to my children? absolutely NOT. Im proud that my children have made me that way, but sometimes little thoughts creep in and it just makes you wonder. I know I am not alone.
Im very thankful and blessed to have those little human beings so full of spunk and Life, sitting right in front of me. They teach me everyday what it is to be thankful for what I have, and to take each day in stride as it comes along. And we teach them what its like to grow and live in a life where there is no greater love. No two days are the same. Each day has a new twist and turn, and im always on my toes. What's going to happen next? No-one knows!
Somedays are harder than you can bare. Somedays you want to lock yourself in a closet and leave them to fend for themselves. Of course you dont, but you just WANT to. Or when daddy walks through the door you're saved for the evening, " dun-da-dun dun, daddy to the rescue". What i wouldnt do to ALWAYS have brian at my side. What an amazing man. Of course I can't always have him at my side, but I will ALWAYS have him in my life. We are linked with two amazing children who deserve to have their parents involved, engaged in their everyday life, and together. We are in this together, as scary as it may seem at times to be a parent, how much pressure it is to be the "perfect wife", and how trying it is to run the household, we do it, because we have no choice but to put a smile on our faces and plug along, for those children who know no different. You're their rock. You're their guide, you just do it.
You are going to read me write about brian's deployment frequently now. and quite frankly, if you don't like it, don't read it. Please if you are going to comment, don't write anything about his deployment that is going to make me upset. This is our life right now, it is a reality that we have to face EVERY day until he leaves. Nothing is worse than a rain cloud hanging above our heads. If you have never been away from your husband, boyfriend, or loved one for more than a month strait, you have no idea what it truely feels like to say "see you in 7 months!" (or longer, or even shorter) You don't always know where they are. You don't always get to talk to them, hug them, see them, touch their flesh. You can't. You get letters, emails, and very infrequent phone calls. The initial shock goes away, and the heartache, but the worrying doesn't. I have yet to go through a deployment, but i did go through 5 months of not being with him through boot camp and training for the guard. They grow while they are away and so do you. So you have to find a balance where you grow together. No resentment as they get to see the world and you are home with the kids with never a day off. We are in this together!!! Its scary to think about. It's worrisome. It puts unwanted thoughts into our brains. But you just have to have faith. And look forward to the homecoming.
I heard someone say to me onetime that they think the wives that go home to stay with their family while their husbands are away on deployment are weak. I just want to know how that makes a person weak? They are living the deployment EVERYDAY the same as the other wives, just in the company of family. Its a choice, not a weakness. If I could move home for those 7 months to be around loved ones, you bet your ass I would. But all of our things are here. I have 2 kids and no place to stay in MIchigan for 7 months without putting anyone out, or invading anyones space, so we have no choice but to remain here and just go home to visit. But in no way shape or form would it make a woman weak, if anything its courageous to travel that far with their children while their husband is away, and dealing with their deployment in their own way. No shame in that!
Brian is my best friend. He's my rock. I tell him EVERYTHING. And to not have him accessible to me when i NEED him, is hard to think about. I know i am strong enough, i know i can do it, still doesnt change the fact that it is hard to think about. until that day comes where i wave to him as his ship pulls away and I watch my son cry because his daddy is leaving him all while trying to keep a smile on my face re-assuring him that everything is going to be okay and daddy is just going to work, breaks my heart already. Brian has a strong bond with his kids. they are his world as he is theirs. It brings me to tears to think about him not in their everyday life. Its our reality but its just hard to face. If it wasnt hard to face then i would say there was something wrong there!
That is all for now. I hope everyone has a great day.

Blog Overload!
Good Morning!
I finally have a moment to sit and type about my life and what is going on around here. I love to use this blog as an outlet. When I type out my thoughts, its such a release, and sometimes I forget that some people actually read this thing. It gives some of my readers insight as to what it is really like to be out here on your own, feeling the distance and states you have between you and ALL of your family, and your only means getting everyone in the "know" and the "loop" is some phone conversations, my blog, facebook and Pictures! You really find out who is true and who isn't. I think from this distance you can see the cattiness in someone or some people as well. For me, this expirience has taught me not to take things for granted, and to soak up family time as much as possible. It's really hard to be a 12-14 hour drive from home and several states away, it makes it impossible to be there for friends and family when something unexpected happens, or something really important like weddings and baby showers are going on, and you can't always make it to them, so you try to plan and choose wisely as to what you can make it to, and what you can't and cross your fingers that they understand and empathize what you are dealing with. It's a journey, and a never-ending battle of worrying who's feelings you might hurt and so on and so fourth. Since we have been moved out of state more people have passed away and more things have happened in 2 years than the whole time we lived home. Not being able to make it to funerals, births of babies, birthdays of nieces and nephews, and other equally as important events is devastating in a sense. But it's our life, we can't change a thing about it, but we CAN relish in the time we have with our loved ones and let them know how much love we have for them, so that if something unexpected happens, they know or knew how much you care for them. And sometimes its easier to be this far away because there is less pressure for family functions and holidays. In a sense you create a new family where you are at. Your military family. No-one can empathize or relate to things you are going through more than a wife going through the same as you. It's all you have and it makes you thankful. I am saying all this because lately I have had a heavy heart. and It took me talking to my dad about my grandma that i realize that I am in a different place than everyone else. I have said it before but it never has hit home as much as it did the other day. Being states away it just feels like my grandma isnt really gone and that i can just call her if i wanted. Its hard for family at home still, but they have grieved and its a reality that she is no longer with us. When i go home and I sit at her grave, it is real and i am talking to a stone, but when I pack my bags and head back home, i dont have to face that stone everyday and i can act as though she is still at home baking and eating her toast with black coffee every morning on her table filled with bills and mail that are unopened. When all actuality, my parents are eating their breakfast on that very table and cooking in that very kitchen, but in my head, in my memories it all dissapears. I haven't truely realized that my grandmother has passed, and I am scared when i move home its all going to hit me like a ton of bricks. My uncle Al passed away not to much after my gram, and that hasnt hit home either. Its all forgetable while you are away. Things change, I get that, and as I am sure you do too, but you can't understand this lifestyle, until you are fully walking in the shoes we walk. Yes its a choice, and we love our choice, but does that make it any easier? No.
We had my parents out here visiting for a week, and boy was that a great time! We did alot, had alot of laughs and it was awesome. We found this really awesome "sauce" shop. It was filled with hot sauces, salsa's, BBQ sauces, whatever you are thinking sauces are, they had it and then some! (we made 2 stops there in a short week). Pure awesome. We also did some shopping, saw the ocean, went to fishermans island, williamsburg, we had awesome family dinners, walks, rides, everything, it was a great time. The kids enjoyed my parents. although sis is a tough crowd. She gave nan and papa a run for their money on winning her affection. But surely they did! By the time they left she was laughing with them, reaching for them and all that jazz. It really is great to watch the interaction between grandparents and their grandchildren. They look at eachother in a totally different way and its amazing to see. Slade is on cloud 9 when his grand rents are around. Although his daddy and I arent really on cloud 9 watching all the rules he breaks and tests the waters of getting away with certain things he wouldn't normally, just for the fact that he has other people to stick up for him. Thats not very fun, but normal for a child. My diet suffered a tad while they were here. I mean coldstone ice cream is on weightwatchers right?! or buffalo wild wings? Olive garden? hmmm...... I have to say it was worth it though.
I am a scheduled mother. I do things on the hour every day. I always thought it was just a "guideline" but i figured out as well as my parents and brian that i have a problem, and I freak out if I am not on schedule. I felt awful and apologized but man, something came over me. I couldn't help it, i was like the schedule monster. Naps are a MUST, baths are at certain times. Here let me just tell you our normal schedule that leaves little room for reasoning. 6 am kids rise- breakfast follows- diaper change and playtime- between 8 and 8:30 sis goes down for nap. here i drink my coffee do my cleaning and slade watches some toons. then she rises around 9ish. she eats and plays all that jazz and i get some laundry done. Lunch is at 11:30, and that is when sis goes down for nap number 2. Slade naps at 1 and sis wakes up around then. she and I play and feed her again, then she naps around 2:30 and slade wakes up around 3. Dinner at 5ish, then baths 5:30ish, sis gets a bottle around 6:15 then shes in bed by 7, slade relaxes at 7:30 and hes in bed by 8. thats my day. EVERY day. and apperantly i freak as we found out, if that isnt followed. How ever did i become this creature? although i must say, its good for the kids to have structure. Dont worry, i really do disreguard the schedule sometimes and somedays its not exactly how i stated above im not a total lame-o. I do still have spontaneity.
Sis is almost 8 months old and growing strong. she is doing so much its crazy. Still slowly learning the crawling thing, and learning how to pull herself up, which she just did for the first time the other day and scared the crap out of me. I put her in her crib so i could run downstairs really quick to grab slade some jeans. but before i even exited the room she pulled herself up on her side rail. Which reminds me, its time to lower her crib mattress so little miss doesnt tumble out. Needless to say, she didnt stay in there, she went downstairs with me. Defeated the whole purpose! she is still teething, somemore bottom teeth are going to be coming in. her gums are pretty white. right now she still only has 4 teeth. i have yet to be able to show you all her top teeth because she never lets me take a picture. its a funny sight though cause they arent the front teeth. she looks like a little vampire. bahaha. Finally she is eating some meats instead of just fruits. she used to HATe the meats but she's coming around ;) . Slade is doing great. He's plugging along in the growth department, as well as becoming a learning machine. he's so smart, its hard to describe but he is a little man. He really is.
Brian and I are doing great. His school is going good and i finally got to see where he works and boy that's amazing!! he's in his element there and I love to see that. I love to hear the way he talks about what he does. He's an amazing man. an amazing father. I couldn't ask for better. He really makes me feel blessed. With dooms day aproaching it really makes it hard to think about him being gone. I hate that black cloud over our heads reminding us we only have until may, and then The kids and I are alone. on the plus side, i have met and am becoming friends with one of the wives whos hubby works with mine. She and her son will be going through the same thing as us.
Ive been at this blog on and off for almost 3 hours. hahaha. i type and then go do something else, come back then go do something else. Over the course of this blog i have put sis down for a nap and got her back out of her nap, and cleaned the whole house and on laundry load number 2. I think i am done, but i havent wrote eveything i had wanted. I will post another soon. I hope everyone has a great day.
