Days 47, 48, 49, 50 & 51 of the challenge

Good morning everyone! I cant seem to be able to keep up with these blogs lately, so i need to start trying. I havent had much going on lately so i really have no excuse, other than lacking the ambition to sit and type behind the computer! This passed week has been good. I got to have a girls night out to go watch THE LUCKY ONE! which was good but the book was better in my opinion. This weekend we went to the beach, the aquarium, strawberry picking...... it was alot of fun that costed us nothing but 7.80 for our bucket of strawberries! We have a membership at the aquarium, so we can go everyday if we want, at no cost! woop woop! we had already gone once already this week, with lindsy and jaiden, but it was a rainy day yesterday so we thought it would be something fun to do. Plus, the kids love to go there, so its a win win... free & fun :)

So anyways, on to the challenge!

Day 47: describe your future wedding:

Brian and I got married at the court house -- justice of the peace if you will. It was nothing fancy, but it was the perfect amount of people. I never would have thought, that i would be okay with a courthouse wedding, but somewhere in my heart, that is good enough for me. Whether you have a large costly ceremony, or a cheap quick courthouse wedding, you still get that same piece of paper! Im not knocking weddings because, i will always want to walk down an isle in a beautiful dress, or have my dad be able to walk me to my husband. But, that seems to be out of the cards, and I am not upset about it. We once thought that we would do the courthouse wedding, then have a re-commitment ceremony & reception  in a few years for all the friends and family to join in. But with 2 kids, that cost cannot be justified. So for now, I am perfectly at peace with the way things happened. My grandma Edmonds got to be at the courthouse to see us marry. If we wouldnt have done that, she wouldnt have been here to see us get married. SO  i am ever so grateful for that. I hate my photo's of the wedding, i was at my largest size and in an unflattering suit, so..... YUCK. BUT that isnt what matters, what matters is I married my best friend, and thats all that matters!

Day 48: your definition of love:

My definition of love is being so content and so happy to the deepest part of my heart. Where I get butterflies when he kisses my forehead, or comes up behind me to hug me while i am cooking...or when I smile uncontrollably when i watch how great of a father he is. Love is having your best friend share every moment with you. Love is about making sacrifices and bettering the relationship. Love is unconditional. Through sickness and in health. Divorce is not an option. Love is meant to be felt every day. Love is sometimes hard; but always necessary. Love is when you feel your heart beat fast for no real reason. Being in love can come in many different ways. I am so in love with my children. The way they lightly put their arms over my shoulder when I carry them. The way they kiss me and tell me they love me. The smile they give me when  I make them happy. love is wanting to squeeze the life out of all 3 of them. Love is a rush of emotions. I cannot stop smiling and my heart is over joyed. Love is knowing that you will ALWAYS have someone there for you. Love is being there for all of your family members! all you need is love!

day 50: something you did as a child that people remember you for:

When i was little, i would laugh. BELLY laugh. and they called me bubbles. Still TO this day, my uncle bobby calls me bubbles.  I cant ever remember a time that i wasnt called Bubbles. ALso called BELLY because well i had a very TONED belly lets say ;) bahaha.... my mom still calls me belly from time to time. Its comforting to hear familiar things. :)

Day 51: a passage from a book that you have liked:

I loved the book the lucky one. I dont read too often, and i wouldnt say it was my favorite book i have read. but it was a very great book. so i am going to put a few passages on here that i loved from the book :

“If relationships were hard, mariage was even harder... it seemed like most couples struggled. It went with the territory. What did Nana always say? Stick two different people with two different sets of expectations under one roof and it ain't always going to be shrimp and grits on Easter.”
― Nicholas Sparks, The Lucky One

“She had been proud of his decision to serve his country, her heart bursting with love and admiration the first time she saw him outfitted in his dress blues. ”
― Nicholas Sparks, The Lucky One

“Proximity bred familiarity, and familiarity bred comfort.”
― Nicholas Sparks, The Lucky One

“It's hard at times, but it makes a kid strong in ways that most people can't understand. Teaches them that even though people are left behind, new ones will inevitable take their place; that every place has something good - and bad - to offer. It makes a kid grow up fast.”
― Nicholas Sparks, The Lucky One

“She was struck by the simple truth that sometimes the most ordinary things could be made extraordinary, simply by doing them with the right people...”
― Nicholas Sparks, The Lucky One

Day 43, 44, 45 & 46 of the Challenge

Hi everyone! I know this is a bit behind, but i've had a lot on my mind and blogging wasn't at the top of the list. So here we go!

Day 43:  what was your last halloween costume:

Hmm.... the last halloween costume I wore, I couldnt even tell you?! I did buy a snooki wig, and i was intending to wear it while trick or treating with the kids. But i guess i didnt get around to it. I just actually tossed it out, it was all ratty from sis playing with it, taking it off and on. I guess the last time i actually dressed up was in 2005. I was a "cat".  and brian was Jimmy johnson. We had a couple halloween parties, so thats what we decided to be... oh wait, as I was lost in thought, i remembered that we had a halloween party at our house in bay city in 2006. So i dressed up then as well. I was "alice" in wonderland. I was always called "alice" at ruby tuesday by my best friends and co-workers. Its a long story of why im called alice, so since i am typing i might as well sum it up and tell you.... I called my friend chris' house one day, his dad answered, and i told him just to tell chris "alyssa" called. So when chris got home his dad told him "alice" called, and he couldnt figure it out. so we all laughed about it, and it stuck. My friend jozie STILL calls me alice....... haha. So yes, my last halloween costume was alice in wonderland. Not one outfit i am proud of purchasing, but i guess when you are 20, the slutty costumes are just what you go for. in retrospect, dumb, but at the time, i was "hot as shit" in my eyes.... haha. so yep there ya have it!

Day 44: are you a lover or a fighter:

I like to feel like i am both of those things. I am passionate about loving. I will give you all of my heart. BUT if you turn on me, i wont be afraid to let it out. Confrontation isnt one of my strong suits, but push me far enough and you will find out that i actually do have a backbone. I tend to bottle things up with other people and then it comes out after building and building and it just EXPLODES!! not a good thing, but i guess thats the "indian" in me. haha. (thats what my mom always says.... its true). anyways, i love to love, but i do fight if i need to.  so I am both.

Day 45: My life story in 3 words:

LIVE> LAUGH> LOVE ----------

Day 46: why are you doing this challenge:

I am doing this challenge because i love to write. giving me topics to write about not only helps me express myself, but also lets people in a little more. Gives you a sense of who I really am, and where I stand. Writting is ALWAYS an outlet for me. I tend to think that i am rather good at captivating my audience. But what i need to do, is start proof reading, because after I read my blog that i wrote AND POSTED about moving back to michigan, i wrote FLOUR instead of FLOWER and i CLEARLY know the difference. Typing with kids talking, fresh beat band singing, and the dog playing isnt always easy. its a multi  tasking nightmare. haha. so proof reading isnt something i do, but i need to. For those of you who caught the FLOUR incident, you're welcome for the giggle. But i am not that dumb, really. I laughed when i read it, but then felt like a jackass-- "really, you type FLOUR you dummie?!" shit happens, and we move on. I do have brains in here tho ;) haha. so i am doing this challenge, to see if i can follow through with it, find a bit of my old self, and do something i actually really love to do!

The road that lies ahead.......

Today I am taking day off from the challenge. But i am going to write a blog about something that will be changing our life. I told my close friends out here, and SOME family know, so now its time to update and tell everyone else....

As some of you know, brian is up for re-enlistment.... We have been swooshing this around  in our mouths for a long time now, and we thought we had made a decision on staying here in virginia beach and signing for another 2 years. But that all changed. I was trying to be okay with saying goodbye to brian for another 10 months to a year. He brought up going IA and that is a year, on foot, and I am just not okay with that If i can prevent it.  I was trying to wrap my head around Brian missing most of slades first grade expirience and possibly pre-school for sis. He's missed so much already, and Ive grown so much already, that I think its necessary for my heart to start to settle down. I just couldnt wrap my head around my deployments. Call me weak, call me what you will, but it isnt easy! When you have everything given to you-- medical insurance, housing, income, steady job-- you say to yourself, you'd be STUPID to get out. Getting out to NOTHING--BUT you miss births of your neice/nephews. You miss growing with the family who raised you. You miss your friends who know you like the back of your hand, and you start to lose connections, and you feel like you no longer belong in part of that. You feel like you have no responsibilities and you can lose who you are. Im not talking for everyone, so as i say YOU im meaning that in my brain, im telling myself all of this. This is no offense to anyone who is in the same shoes as I, and are deciding to make a career out of military, because there is SO much in it for you! Its just not for ME. So please keep this in mind, that its just about MY decisions and my families way of thinking, not everyone else.

When Brian and I were making our "life" plan, MILITARY was NEVER on that plan. Not a thought in either of our minds, until our life took a wrong turn and we made horrible mistakes. So the mindset of living away from everything i have ever known was never thought about, because i never thought i would have to. I didn't marry into the military, it was a choice that was made after being together for 9 years. so joining and saying it was just a 4 year thing, then making it into a 6 year thing, would ultimatly lead to a CAREER in the military. And that isnt something that i want. And i know i am saying I-- but my feelings are just as important as brians, and it has to be a mutual decision. Brian is great at his job, and he loves it. But its not fair to the kids and I, nor to him to have to be away. Its the name of the game, yes, but the saying is true-- the military isnt for everyone, and you cant make yourself love it. Im not saying that I've hated it. Because parts of it I have loved. Parts of it Will be missed, and I LOVE virginia beach. I am SAD to leave virginia beach. If it weren't from being away from family, i would stay here forever. Its a wonderful place for families, and I feel like I belong. Brian and I are a TEAM, and Ive made sacrifices, and its time to focus on OUR life, not HIS life, and not MINE-- OURS. The kids being our first priority!

I feel lost in michigan, it doesnt feel like i belong there anymore, but it is home. it is where i grew up, and I want that for my kids. WE want that for OUR kids.

We have made the decision to get out in July. We have nothing set in stone. Our world is flipped upside down right now. We have no idea what we are going to do. But we are focused, motivated and working TOGETHER. We have so much to do and not enough time to do it. We are going to fall FLAT on our faces and hopefully come out of this stable, and happy. Its going to be HARD, harder than anything we've EVER done! Its time to get our life STARTED. Its time to settle in one place, and give our kids a stable environment where we arent moving all over anymore. Its time to paint walls and plant flours. Its time to take old carpet and make it into hard wood. Its time to get our hands dirty and work for the life we want. The kids are going to make and lose friends in ONE place for now on. Not making friends and moving, and your heart be broken, time and time again. They are going to see and be raised with their cousins and family. We are going to make careers and build a life in MICHIGAN.

Plans are not finalized, but the decision is made. Brian is applying for colleges and picking a major. I am trying to line up a job, and a house and choose what school system we want slade to be in. Most likely we will be in bay city or Auburn.

Please, we ask there to be no critisism, as this is the hardest decision we have ever made. But most importantly we have made it together, and that in itself is alot to ask for. Being on the same page and realizing what is important to us. Please just lend us support if you have it to offer, and your love. Alot of you have no idea what this is like, and my heart is feeling a mass amount of emotions. Uncertainty sure does do a number on my poor brain. But it will all work out with a lot of faith and prayer.

The time has come. We are coming home.

day 42 of the challenge

Day 42: what makes you smile:

What makes me smile is watching my kids play together. The way they talk to eachother while playing. What makes me smile is watching my son on his bike, or them riding in the powerwheels together; laughing. What makes me smile is watching my kids and husband roll around on the floor and wrestle, or play hotwheels, or play anything at all. What makes me smile is the conversation at the dinner table. Or when brian gives them their nightly bath; all the giggles and splashes I hear from afar, make me smile. Friends make me smile. Good coffee makes me smile. Running brings the biggest smile to my face. A forehead kiss from my husband brings a smile to my face. Funny pictures, some cartoons, slades character voices, sis farting, all make me smile. Watching kind gestures, whether it be from my kids or strangers, that makes me smile. Seeing photos of my family from afar bring smiles to my faces. Reading comments make me smile. A clean house, full cupboards and cooking make me smile. Watching my husbands car pull in after a long days work- that really makes me smile!! Reading the kids bedtime stories make me smile. After both doors are shut to the kids rooms, and knowing they are sound asleep, makes me smile. So many little things bring a smile to my face. I love things that make me smile & smiling makes me happy. I am a very smiley person, nothing wrong with that!! :) Have a wonderful day everyone!

Day 41 of the challenge.

Good morning! Its hump-day already! I can see clearer today. I feel better emotionally today. Not sure how long that is going to last with these kids (haha) but as always, im going to give it my best shot!! Nothing planned today except getting diapers! we have 2 left hahaa. meant to go get them yesterday but i forgot. That happens sometimes!

well lets get started!

Day 40: when is the last time you tried something new:

I just want to start off by saying that I am a creature of habit. I do the same things at the same time (pretty much) each and every day. Change isn't something that I am open to for the most part. If i can keep things the same, I do. I do however, try new things from time to time. Its really hard to think of specific scenarios when we are sitting down making your brain concentrate. How is it that when you dont want to think about certain things they come right to your mind, but when you are trying to figure something out you have major brain fart? Well I guess i will say that the last time I tried something new, would be putting myself first. Thinking about me above the kids, husband and Dog. If no-one else is going to look out for the well being of me, i sure  have to. So I started giving running a shot again. (It deserved a second look ;) ) While brian was gone on deployment i give myself diets, and eating healthy and taking care of myself. but when he gets home, i get comfortable again and forget about myself. SO i thought that giving myself a routine and putting myself first for a change would be a perfect change. So gradually I have been running farther and more often. I remember when i started running in november, it was challenging. it felt good, but it was challenging. 15 minutes of running just about killed me, and making it to a mile was a miracle. I gradually kept taking it up a notch. And i focused on my first 5k. I did that, and now i want more. and more. and more. Last night i put on my amazing running shoes and took off with my earbuds in, ready to just go! and that is what I did. I didn't know where i was headed exactly, i just knew i was headed somewhere and my feet were taking me along for the ride. 50 minutes and 4 miles later, i ended up finding my way back home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. In october if you would have told me that i could run for nearly and hour after my first stride hit the ground I would tell you, that you were crazy. But i LOVE it. I love the feeling I get. I love knowing that I am helping myself. Its my moment to be with noone but myself and my music. Music takes me where i want to go. Running really is better and cheaper than therapy! Im getting a little off subject but i dont even care. Last night when i was running the song "i got a feeling" came on my ears and when they say "Ive got a feeling...." what comes next? " "WHOOOO HOOOOOOOO" yep, i belted that out while running down the path to the aquarium. Passerby's looked at me like i was a bit Coo- Coo; but who cares?! I smile basically my whole run, i sing, and when cupids shuffle comes on, i do a little dance. You have to love what you do, in order to do it, and I LOVE IT! So here is where I am publicly announcing that I am looking for a half marathon to run by september. 13.1 miles. Only 9 more miles than i run now... right?! haha. Wish me luck and give me hope. I know i can do it, but its nice to have support! So i guess this is my something "new". Putting myself first, and training for something that will mean alot to me!

Day 38, 39 & 40 of the Challenge!!

Good morning!! We had a very amazing Easter weekend. FOUR full days packed with fun & relaxing!!!But on thursday it kicked off our long weekend with having a bbq for brians work!!  On friday we had Gymnastics for slade, Then we went to the housing Easter celebration later that evening! Saturday we did stuff around the house and went for a family run/bikeride, mowed the backyard, cleaned the backyard, dyed eggs and brian fixed the brakes on his car. Then on sunday it was easter, so we spent the day egg hunting, eating candy, picnicking, cooking, flying kites, cleaning the front windows and being a family. On Monday we stayed home. I scrubbed the house, the kids and bri washed and waxed his car.Brian also took sis to the Dr. She has horrible allergies and an ear infection. ALong with a skin infection (its pimples and a slight rash, it doesnt seem to bother her much and its on her legs & butt).... all in all; It was a very relaxing day! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! Now lets get started.....

Day 38: What do you think of your drivers license picture:

I think that my picture is nice. Comparing it to my previous ooompa looompa photo, this one looks like i am actually semi attractive. I mean its not like you stand there in the DMV looking all cute with your best pose in front of the camera, so i guess its as good as it would ever get considering how fun it is to actually GO to the DMV. so in conclusion, I am not ashamed to flash my drivers license photo, and I like it!
Comparing my last drivers license with my current :)

Day 39:Is it possible to lie without even saying a word:

I think that your eyes can tell everything. The way you handle yourself including your eye movements and body language, i can certainly tell when some people are lying or about to lie, without even talking yet. Unless you are a skilled liar. I do not care for lying. I dont know why you cant just tell it strait all of the time. I a honest. Now when i was a teen, of course you are going to "fib" to your parents. But i am such a nervous nelly, i think they could always tell. And only 1 thing did i ever fully lie about and that doesn't need to be talked about. Plus i am getting off subject; sort of. I do believe you can lie without saying a word. My son, his face turns bright red when he does something he knows he is going to have to "lie about". And when you start to ask him "did you just do that?!" He gets nervous, his eyes shift, and his face continues to get even redder, then you know he is about to tell you a lie. So yes, you can lie without saying a word! it is possible, i do believe!

Day 40: When was the last time you wore a dress:

The last time i wore a dress was in October. We were going to a video teleconference to see Brian, and I wore a really cute blue sundress. That was the last time i have worn a dress or a skirt. Im not one to wear dresses or skirts too often. Im more of a jean/capri kind of gal. In the passed couple years i can count how many times Ive worn a dress. I wore a dress to my god daughters Baptism, so thats one. I wore a dress to a wedding last year around this time, so thats 2. And I wore  that same blue sundress to keni's birthday party, so that is 3, and in october i wore that blue sundress to a teleconference. so that is 4. Oh and i wore a dress to another wedding, so in over 2 years i have worn a dress 5 times. Bahaha.

This is one of the ties I wore a dress... haha. Not too often, but i felt pretty :)

Day 37 of the challenge!

Good morning! Happy to be alive, and thankful for what I have!! Yesterday an F 18 went down shortly after take off. It was a couple miles down our street. The pilots did a wonderful job at trying to control the situation by dumping fuel to lessen the explosion before the crash, they waited until last minute to eject themselves. it Could have been so much worse!! No casualties in the apartment complex (at least the last I read, everyone was okay with only minor non life threatening injuries) and the pilots were safe as well. Low jets are something you see around here often. Jet noise I barely hear anymore, also jet noise is so comforting to me.  I can't imagine what was going through peoples heads yesterday! Just thankful. Very thankful. The lord sure was looking out!!

Today we plan to color easter eggs. Hang out at the house and enjoy the "warm" weather!

Day 37: the feature you get complimented on most:

I get complimented on my eyes. My eyes receive lots of compliments. They are bright and full of colors. They are my favorite thing on me as well. They are outlined with blue, the inside is made up of mostly green and a little brown. Some days they look yellow. Somedays they are bright green, and somedays they look brown. My mood changes my eye color- i know its weird  and you dont believe it, but it is true. The other compliment I receive from family/friends, are my legs. I by the way HATE my legs, and i am self conscious of my "thunder thighs" but it never fails to hear "i love your legs". I feel they are manly. I hate to wear shorts and bathing suits.  They are way muscular. I wish i could take some of my leg muscles and move them to my arms!!! haha. So those are what i get complimented on most!

dont mind the fact that i was prego, but these were the only pictures i could find off hand of me in shorts to show my "legs"

theres my "legs" and ken in the belly.

my eyes....

Day 36 of the Challenge!

Good morning! I go to sleep in until 9 today! Woke up to breakfast being made and coffee being brewed! Now as i speak or type; bri is bringing a cup coffee to me! Wow he's pretty great! Today Slade has Gymnastics since he issed Chopsticks from sissy being sick this week. unfortunately that seems like its becoming pretty frequent. Hopefully once nice weather decides to stick around, the colds will decide to stay away too. This weekend we don't have much planned and that feels really great. Dying eggs, running, easter and easter dinner are all thats on our agenda! well, lets get started!

Day 36: last time you wrote a hand written letter and why:

Last time I wrote a handwritten letter was in November. Why? because i sent it to Brian. Writing letters during deployment is something that you frequently do. Its more personal than receiving an email. You can actually READ THEIR words, instead of typed words. It seems much more emotional to read handwritten letters then lets say, an email. It seems like more time, and more "heart" is put into it. Or atleast thats how my letters are. Brian would receive a letter in every package and he would get a package every week or 2. I sent alot of freaking packages, and sometimes i would send 2 or 3 out at the same time. He didn't lack in the snacks or love department! I only received a handful of letters. It was easier for me to send to him, then him to send to me. He worked the night shift, so when the post office on the ship was open, he was sleeping. Im not going to complain, because the amount of emails I received from him were un"godly". I was and am appreciative. Sidenote tho: Letters took MONTHS to get to him if you sent them in an envelope. It doesnt make much sense, but its true. I sent him a letter when he first left, and he received 3 to 4 packages before he received that letter! so I just stuck letters in his package, it was much more efficient. So there you have it. That was when i wrote my last hand written letter, November!

day 35 of the challenge!

Good morning! Well today is our friday and boy does it feel good! We have a picnic for brians work to go to today. Im not feeling it,but he has to be there because he has duty, so we are tagging along to help keep him company! It was nice to wake up next to him this morning! normally he sneaks out while its still dark, but today since he has his PRT he didnt have to leave until 8:30 this morning..... can I get a woo hoo?! So i cooked them a nice healthy breakfast of a fruit parfait, toast, and scrambled eggs! I am not a morning person, so i can't say i did it with a smile on my face! But now i have a cup of Joe in my system and y smile is appearing other than this blasting headache i  woke up with. Blah. Any who-sit! My question from slade today was "mommy, how does the easter bunny get in our house to drop our baskets off"?? Brian and I both looked at eachother and was thinking hmmmm, we've never thought about that. So slade suggested that we should buy a key for the easter bunny like santa has. So i think that is what we will do! Bubby's a pretty smart Dude! So let's getthis "party" started!

Day 35: your thoughts on your generation:

My thoughts on my generation...... hmm......I have some pretty strong thoughts on "my" generation. I think that most of my generation take advantage of help that their parents give, and they have no responsibility. Again, Im not saying that all of you who are reading this are who i am talking about, most of my friends/family, have their shit together, but in broad terms, Im saying that the whole "my" generation needs to grow up. There's no work ethic in my generation. They would rather be out drinking their days away, or sitting on the couch then working for their money. Stand there with your hand wide open a little more why don't you! Or how about you go get a job and earn things for yourself. I can guarantee these people would feel so much better about themselves. Its hard to make ends meet as it is, without someone sucking money out of me. I think that my generation has no sense of respect. In the "older" days, holding doors, opening doors, speaking to strangers was an every day occurrence, now i watch where people take seats from older folks or scurry in before the older folks because their legs move faster. For example, i was at the doctors office one day, and there were about 30 seats, i was in one of them, and they were all taken. in walks an older couple one of which was on oxygen.... They just stood there looking around, she needed to sit. So i stood up, loudly said "ma'am, you can have my seat"... she smiled and walked over and had a seat. As i was walking to stand by the wall, a gentleman thanked me and said "there aren't too many people like you out there, that was really generous". It makes me smile, but it also makes me wonder, why don't people have manners and why aren't they taught? I have to admit, i do not understand it, nor do i tolerate it. My son holds doors for older people, he talks to people when he is talked to, and he helps when he is needed. IT IS TAUGHT. I just wish people my age older or younger (give or take some years) would understand that if you want to be treated fairly, you need to treat others fairly.  I also feel that marriage isn't taken the way it is supposed to be. It is a FOREVER commitment, not an "oh well, i just dont feel the same way anymore". TOUGH, you made the commitment, YOU work it out. Marriage is WORK. Its HARD, but its the most amazing gift. You have a partner, for the rest of your life. One whom understands you, and is there for you, in sickness and in health! Open your eyes and see! Its not just okay to get a divorce. I see some reasons for divorce of course, but most of these reasons people get divorced within months of marriage is because it was a mistake in the first place, well then they should have thought it through! Not just gave up! My generation is greedy, snotty, careless, and shit is going down the tubes. We need lessons from the "old schoolers!". I know i want my kids growing up well rounded. well respected, and I want them to respect as well. I want them to have responsibility and work for what they want. I want them to love and be loved. I wish that all people felt the way I do. I wish my generation would get a little sense of what our parents or grandparents made for us and maybe they could be like it too? Getting your hands dirty is part of life. So do it. I know that right now i am a stay at home mom, but that doesnt mean i dont work for our money. I work just as hard as my husband,  and i gave up alot to be where we are. That was just a side note by the way! My generation is lazy! PLEASE teach your kids to play outside!! if you dont want to play outside, doesnt mean they dont want to!! I lived outside when i was a kid, and thats what my kids do now! TV is not a babysitter, kids need fresh air and places to explore!  I have more feelings about my generation but i will stop there!

Im not trying to offend any of you, as i said, most of you have your shit together. Im just broadly speaking, and if i did offend you, these are my honest to god truth thoughts! And i am not going to apologize for that!! Have a wonderful day!

Day 34 of the Challenge!

Good morning! It is finally the middle of the week. It feels like it took forever to get here. Today the kids and I are car-less. I always hate to feel "stranded". Brians breaks blew yesterday in the car, so by the time he got home last night he didnt have time nor the want, to fix them, so he took the truck to work this morning. I didnt have anything to do or anywhere to go today, but like i said, I hate the feeling of being "stranded". But we have bikes, wagons & feet, so we aren't technically STRANDED.

I sure am dragging this morning. Keni woke up screaming at 4am. So it was a battle of trying to get her to go back to sleep. Brian and I took shifts, until he had to leave for work. Everytime we put her to bed, she would stay there until we were comfortable in bed, then you would see her in the shadows of the hallway, so you would get up to take her back to bed, she'd run like a bat out of hell to her bed, let you tuck her in, just to do the same thing over again. One time she snuck into bubby's room, and thankfully I caught her before she woke him up. She was standing at the edge of his bed whispering "bubbbbbb". I grabbed her little butt and headed back to her bed. Finally after Bri left, i put her in my bed and made her fall asleep. Once she started breathing heavy and i was exhausted and thankful, guess who started barking and whinning in her sleep? yep, marce. by this time it was already 6 am. 2 hours of this was bogus! so i picked her up, and carried her to bed in hopes that she would actually stay asleep....my hopes worked, until 7:45 when bubb jumped on my bed. GOOD MORNING! Then sis climbed in my bed at 8:12....so we were up!

I came downstairs to a note and a pot of brewed coffee. I sure love my Hubby! Wow, enough about the morning, now to start todays challenge!

Day 34: who are you:

I like to think that I am a person of kindness, generosity, fairness, understanding, charisma, passion, and life. I am hard working and I try my best at everything. I tend to give everyone else more time than i give myself.I am an encourager. I push the limits on whatever I am doing, and I love to be moving. I think too much with my heart and not enough with my head. I plan too many ideas that I don't follow through with, that is one of my weaknesses. I have a good sense of humor, and I take things lightly.I am compassionate, and I love with all of my heart. I will give you anything you need, because keeping you happy, keeps my heart at ease. I a a person who loves my children with every fiber of my being. I work hard to keep my husband and family happy. I am a person of free spirit and will. I love to be traveling and seeing new places. I love to take in the finer things of life. Money to me means nothing when you compare it to life and my family. Family is everything to me. I am an active person, whom loves to run. I love to have my family at my side. I am a person who loves to sit at home on the weekend in sweats with messy hair, while snuggling my kids, husband and dog, during family movies. I would take a whole day with my family over one to pamper myself. I love hearing peoples stories and what makes them, them. I enjoy beer. I love to grill and entertain. I do not like to be put on the spot. I am a person who keeps to myself in uncomfortable situations. I often play the middle man or the "neutral spot". I am a wife who supports and loves  her husband to great lengths in full-filling who they want to be. I am Loyal. I am strong. I am extremely independent when I need to be, but reliant on my husband. I love to get dirty. I love to do crafts and keep my mind busy. I love to keep my kids busy. My friends become my family. I am very empathetic, and military homecomings make me weep like a baby, regardless if i personally know them or not. I am stubborn. I am anxious. I am spontaneous. I am an animal lover. I love to be the "go to" person. I do not need to be the center of attention, i would actually like to be more of a "wall flower" when it comes to having everyones attention. I love getting gifts, but i hate opening them in front of people. Christmas makes me cheerier than normal, and i do believe that easter candy is the best thing on the planet. I am easily amused. I love to laugh and smile. I love to love life. I am not one specific person, but i am made of very many things. I love with all of my heart and I give my all, I have no intention of changing that. I get taken advantage of by y generosity, and that hurts. I wish people would learn more respect and responsibility. I am accountable for all of my actions. So who am I? I am Alyssa Houts. I am ME.

Day 30, 31,32,33 of the Challenge!!

Wow, seems that i missed more days than usual. I feel a little bad about that, but yesterday I wasnt feeling the greatest so Blogging was the last thing that was on my Mind. But since i feel better today and the kids are occupied with crayons, seems like a good time to put my thoughts into these questions! So here we go!

Day 30: a bit about my social life, outside of blogger:

Well, if you want to believe it or not, i do indeed have a life outside of blogger and facebook. I have 2 great friends out here. They keep me socially entertained with play dates for the kids, and running dates for us moms. We love to take runs down at the boardwalk. Even if we arent side by side, we are still essentially "running together" and that is quite a bond. (sounds cheesy) but its the truth. Running has become my therapy. I hate to miss a day. And running with these girls gives me a sense of accountability and encouragement. We also have other friends and other things that keep us busy. But the beach seems to be our favorite place to go!   I have also made friends with my next door neighbor Meghan. She has a little boy younger than sis, and its fun to get the kids together, and our dogs have playdates. They are a one car family so i get to take them on outtings, which is less boring for me, and lets her get things she needs as well!  The dog park also takes up parts of our weekends, as its important to keep marci occupied and up on her gossip ;) And last but not least, we have chopsticks on tuesdays to help our social life. Slade gets to play with his karate friends, and i get to chit chat with one of my fellow chopstick mothers, Amanda. Sis also gets to play with Asher, amanda's middle little guy! So there you have it, my social life. its not much, but its something! :)

Day 31: How many pictures do you have in your bedroom:

Well, i once read somewhere that, you shouldnt have pictures of your children in your bedroom. Its supposed to be about you and your husband, and a place to get away, so we have no pictures of the kids in our room. We have one giant picture of us above our bed, and 1 on each night stand. so 3 in total.  My bedroom is one of my favorite places to be! Well i guess that one was easy. Short sweet and to the point!

Day 32: What is your favorite pop-tart flavor:

Hands down my favorite pop-tart flavor is S'more. The ooey, gooeyness of the marshmallow, and the creamy-ness of the chocolate.....Oh yum! Im not a fan of any of the "fruit" flavors of pop-tarts. I've never been one to be " health conscious" haha. "Forgive me" but Give me the sweetness overload! I like all the chocolate ones, but s'mores takes the cake! I remember eating a s'more pop-tart with a chocolate milk EVERY morning of my senior year in high school. Im wondering why I wasnt a Fat ass?!

Day 33: What is your horoscope for the day and do you think it is accurate:

Share with friends:

As you work slowly and steadily toward your goals, realize that there are apt to be unexpected obstacles along the way, Sagittarius. You can't possibly plan for everything, so don't get discouraged today when some crazy variable pops out of nowhere. Your mental process may be thrown for a loop, and you might find that you go into a frenzy. There's a valuable lesson to be learned here - patience.

I can totally see that this is accurate. I am working towards goals, and unexpected obstacles are always in my way. I am a planner, and when i cant have everything perfectly aligned I start to stress and get P.O.ed. I sure need to be taught patience, so here we go!
