THe Light at the End of the Tunnel!

Good morning!

This blog is going to be about homecoming. I have gotten alot of messages from people who would like to know how it went, and i we were feeling, and things of those sorts, so i thought that i would just "blog" about it, so that way if you want to read you are more than welcome, but if you dont, then just go back to facebook or wherever haha. So here we go!

My dad was asked by brian to ride what they call a "tiger cruise". Its where a family member gets to be aboard the mighty uss george h w bush, and ride along with their sailor to enjoy the experience and really see first hand, what these men and women go through. They have to sleep in a rack and do what the others do! So 2 days before Brian was arriving in Norfolk for the HOMECOMING, I drove my dad to Norfolk to catch a bus to meet my husband in port at Mayport Florida! Now those of you who know me, know that i hate driving in thick traffic, but my only option was to drive dad to Norfolk, so i put on my big girl panties, loaded up the Rents and the Kids and off we went. The ride went without a hitch. No problems whatsoever! and the ride home went pretty much the same! While aboard dad got to see alot of things..... A burial at sea, An air show, and others. They really enjoyed their time, and the smiles and the stories say so!

The next 2 days werent as bad as I anticipated. Even tho i was MORE than excited, I held it together.... Couldnt believe that the seven months we were DREADING was already over, and we were preparing him to be home!

During the last 2 days of a "single" parent, we did alot of cleaning, shopping and other stuff. We painted the windows to welcome daddy home, which was so much fun!

The morning Of homecoming, I had woke up at 5am, yes because of nerves! my husband was really on his way home! LITERALLY! I started getting around by taking a shower and getting the kids out of bed and fed. By 7:30 I was completely dressed and walking out the door. Before i walked out the door, the news showed a shot of the Uss George H W Bush, and reported their homecoming, thats when the seagulls were qued in my belly! Let the EXCITEMENT begin!!!!!

It took A LOT to not tell sladen where i was really going! I had told him i had to go pick papa up from the bus station that we dropped him off at. He then asked me why i was so dressed up, so i told him that i just bought these new shoes so i wanted to wear them. for a 4 year old, that was a perfect answer! No questions asked!

I headed out the door to get ready to meet my friend lindsy and her son Jaiden, who of which they were welcoming their "daddy" home!! As i was waiting, Brian had called me and said they could see land! His voice was so strong, and i could HEAR the smile on his face. IT was REALLY happening!!!

As I sat waiting in the truck at a meeting spot near the base, I just peared at the runway as i sat there shakily. I was so nervous. I was so excited. I was SO HAPPY. These last 7 months have been a rollercoaster and it was finally ending, and left me wondering what was next! Then they pulled up, we excitedly exchanged Hellos and "ARE YOU READY!?!" and off we drove! NORFOLK BOUND!

I was really calm the whole drive, just focused. But i kept catching myself smiling at the thoughts rolling into my head. As we got closer, and there were signs for the naval station, i got giddy again, and those seagulls were flocking! Pulling in to the base became more real.....Finding a parking spot became more real, and then as I stepped out of the truck, it was like a rush. He was really going to be sitting in this car with me in a couple of hours. we were really going to be together again.

Now i know this all my sound silly to you all, but it isnt when you go through this, its a hard journey but its worth it!

It was a very COLD AND BLUSTERY DAY, and especially on the water, that wind was crisp! we made our way to our Family Readiness tent, and we stayed there for our photographers to get there and to keep warm. As we were chit chatting and talking about how excited we all were, someones voice said "YOU CAN SEE THEM COMING!" it then became a mad dash to the pier. The smiles on everyones faces were remarkable. the pier became a sea of people with colorful signs trying to stick out in the crowd!

From afar you could see the mighty bush, with all its sailors along the perimeter "manning the rails". It was so amazing that all you could do was let out a "WOOOOOOOOO". OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH!! I could physically see them, they were REALLY coming, but it wasnt REAL yet. It didnt hit me. Yes i was excited like i had never been before. It was more amazing than words can express. Just seeing everyones faces, and hearing the crowd roar with anticipation and excitement, and the music to pump us all up, it was just something  that i will NEVER forget.

It took a long time for the ship to actually stop moving, but when that last tugboat floated away, and let out a "HOOOOOOOOOONK"......... This was it! It was OVER. the waiting began, but the deployment was over!

My phone rang and it was brian. he asked me to give him my whereabouts and we began searching for one another. it was exciting and frustrating. The crowd was so loud and i just wanted to find him. I kept talking loudly and saying things that were around me " THERE IS A SIGN IN FRONT OF ME, ITS BLUE, IT SAYS WELCOME HOME TOMMY ACKERSON!" "NEXT TO THAT IS A PINK SIGN,  I have people beside me in blue coats, and 2 other girls have christmas trees on their heads!"...... He began to tell me that he was waving a back and yellow hat! so i yelled that aloud.... i was searching, then the couple in front of me, who looked like they were there to meet their son or daughter said " a black and yellow hat? i see it waving right there"..... as i followed where their hands were pointing, THERE HE WAS!!! they helped me find him, with smiles on their faces. Kristin was trying to find him in her camera, it was a group effort! Once we locked eyes, and waves, it was more real. We stood there just staring and smiling.

Later kristin and I made our way to the "mouth" of the pier so we could get brian and head right out and not get jammed into people traffic! They were lowing the brows, which are the stairs that the sailors come out on. Years passed and the crowd let out a huge...." WOOOO HOOO YAYYYYYYYYYY" it was an amazing sound, but i looked to the brows and it was a sea of sailors coming off of those stairs.... and my sailor is in there. MY SAILOR IS IN THERE!!! I kept watching and waiting and waiting and watching, the excitement was overwhelming. By this time i couldnt feel my feet or my fingers, but i was READY! I saw lindsy's husband Dre, then i knew brian probably wasnt far off....Dre said that brian was right behind him, and about 10 sailors back was my husband. THERE HE WAS (and my dad too with a big ol smile) all handsome in his blues. With his sun glasses. He was scanning the crowd, and once he saw me, that smile that i missed so much SHINED!! The crowd was so thick, the line was barely moving. I just wanted to run to him but i couldnt. There was a 6ft table in front of my  knees, and he was standing on the other end. all that was between us was a table..... I yelled " COME ON ALREADY!!!!"

When he got close enough I grabbed his face and tuggged it to me for my kiss and hug! This was it, he was in my arms as i was in his, it was all over in the blink of an eye!!!

The walk out to the car with his hand in mine was awesome. i kept saying " i cant believe you are home!" Once out at the car we greeted each other and i greeted dad, and we got to say hello to lindy, jaideen and dre, then on our way we went!!! HOME!

Once we pulled into our housing complex, i told brian to turn left, but not remembering that he didnt know which one was our house, as he was pulling up i was talking to my dad about the camera and recording, and i hear brian say "welcome home daddy".... I said "YES THATS OUR HOUSE!".... he was shocked that we wrote on the windows and he had a big smile! So once out of the car we let brian lead the way. He was about to ring the door bell. I heard the door bell ring then i heard slades voice yell "PAPA!!!" then the door opened and as he was expecting papa he said "DADDY?" Hi daddy!!! it was like brian had never left! It was so calm and so gentle, and just exciting! Then sis came up and looked up at daddy....... we all came inside and slade never flinched. he started showing him around and hugging him and kissing him. sis was a little reserved at first but it took her about 5 minutes to give him her forehead for a kiss!! it was amazing. we were together again and it never felt better!!!

Thats our homecoming story! we are enjoying every minute of him being home!!! I will do a blog in the next day or two to tell about how life is and how our visit from mom and dad went and things of those sorts, but for now this took me a long time to write and the kids are fried with me not paying attention! haha.. have a wonderful week!

Everything Pays off, Just patience is Key.

Hi You!

Well Today starts another week. Another week closer to home coming, another fresh start of a monday at the gym, and a whole new week of things to do!

This passed week was a bit of a headache for me. It was long, It was hard, and it was FULL of sickness. But it was also full of nice things, Like thanksgiving, A great friend who stayed the night, AND SKYPING with the husband!

We have been battling colds, sinus infections, ear infections, rashes, fevers, vomitting, you name it, we've crossed it this passed week. Although it was ONLY a week, it felt like a month! No lies,it was the longest week in history! We had been in and out of the Dr's offices, rite aid is in business because of me, and lysol became my right hand man! Sis was the one who was the sickest. She was the one with all of those things listed above. Slade suffered a sniffle nose and a slight fever.... oh man thats terrible in his book. But he also encountered his first "shart" so i guess he gets a free pass at saying he was "sick". his monster PJ's had to visit the dumpster because of the said "shart", so i became the worst mother alive in his book. Sis was a trooper...as always.... turns out it could have all been solved and nipped in the bud if the dr's would have listened to my mommy intuition. She is allergic to penicillin. So that is what caused her to be so sick. But a high fever, blistered rash, and 4 dr visits later, to confirm that my "mommy intuition" was correct. so No more CILLIN's for sis! Now that the kids are free and clear of germs, I get the privilege of getting a nasty cold, that feels like i swallowed a brillo pad and turned my head into a balloon. I guess its only fair tho. SUCK IT UP MOM!

Thanksgiving went well. The kids and I just spent the day home, cleaning, and decorating for christmas. We put up all the lights up outside and decorated a tad in the inside of the house. We rocked out to some christmas jams and  baked the day away! we Made brownies and Fudge!  and we even had some turkey pot pies to conclude or thanksgiving feast! We had several offers for thanksgiving, but since sis was sick and not looking to great, we just decided it was best to stay home and hang out. So i wasnt going to cook a huge meal for the 3 of us. PLUS once brian gets home, thats going to be our big thanksgiving since my parents will be in town. It will be great! SOmething i am REALLY looking forward too. But i cant complain because for my first thanksgiving away from brian in 10 years, it went really well. My kids show me how thankful i am.

Then this weekend, slades girlfriend Ali came to visit us. She stayed the day and night and it was awesome to just sit and chat with her. I had missed her! Slade had missed her, and she is just an amazing friend. One of those friends where you could go for a really long time without talking-- yet when you do finally get to talk, its like no time had passed. THOSE are the BEST type of friends. So thanks Ali, for coming out, It was nice to have you!

So with the "said" sicknesses, gym was a no go ALL week last week. So today i thought it was going to kill me once i stepped on the treadmill. but surprisingly it wasnt that bad. Aside from it being hotter than a sauna in the family room! The kids were shirtless and sitting still, and they were still sweating. How awful! I only did 2.5 miles. i walked the first mile and ran the last mile and a half. I was sweating from my knee caps if that tells you how hot it was!! But we were there, and thats all that i can ask for right?! I havent been in this good of shape since i graduated high school... Even then i dont know if i was this committed!! That feels pretty amazing. i feel the difference in my body. I dont get tired doing little stuff. I feel amazing and i have to say thank you to my friend Erin for pushing me. she gives me the encouragement to keep it up. Im having a good time going to the gym and i am loving the results I am seeing. ITs about time i focus on myself for a change!

Hubby's been in port this weekend, and it was amazing to see and hear him. We were blessed to be able to talk to him ALOT. You forget how much you miss just sitting and chatting. Its really nice to just sit and talk, and make lunch for the kids while he watches, and have the kids make him laugh, I couldnt ask for a better husband. Which by the way, Tomorrow marks our 11th Year together! How amazing is it that at the age of 14, i thought i was just finding my "boyfriend", and yet I found my soulmate. Someone to spend the rest of my life with. We have been through alot.... after all, we grew up together, thats alot to handle, but we are proud to say that we have never been an off again on again relationship. we have never broken up (officially!) We grew together, Its an amazing thought that i have only ever Kissed my husband! So babe, Happy Anniversary to you. I couldnt have picked a better boy to make my boyfriend! The 13 year old, Jnco jean wearing, dragon sporting, bowl-cut hairdo of a boy turned into the man I married!

So, My parents come out here in 7 days! slade has his countdown going! I have lots to do, and it feels like little time to do it! I have grocery shopping, clothes shopping, cleaning, arranging, just STUFF to do! It will be nice to have some visitors!

Well i think that about sums up this blog for now!
Have a great week everyone.

A distant Memory!

Well hello!

Time is going by so fast. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and brighter! It seems like not that long ago we were preparing for Brian to leave us, And now we are preparing for Him to come home!

Several months ago, it was a horrible thought to even think of him leaving us.It was a thought that would bring me to tears and anxiety attacks. It was a tear jerker, and a heart stabber. Just the thought of him not being around was hard. But now, since we have been going through it for this long, it seems like it was a million years ago. all those scary thoughts were wooshing by, and there is no longer "what ifs" but "we knows". We now know what it is like to go through a deployment. We know what it is like to be away from our best friend, and he knows what it is like to watch his kids grow from afar and I know what its like to be a single parent for a very short amount of time. Its all not easy, but its easier to understand since we are living it.

Everything I feared for him being gone, pretty much happened, and we made it out alive.... well..... so far. And i feel like everything we have encountered, gave me a better grip on life and a better understanding as to what and who we really love.

Some Things i didnt have prior too Bri's deployment, is Noticeable grey hairs! HOLY HELL! they are so silver and so noticeable, now i know i am getting older, but come on, im not that old. Even though brian tells me I am farting dust, not quite!  I wouldnt assume it is stress related?! :) These kids aren't stressful in the least bit! Another thing i didnt have was a mountain of patience. I feel like my patience level grew immensely. Another thing, Before Brian left i used to HATE being home alone. I hated it with a passion, and well tossing me in the fire helped me out a lot with that. When brian worked nights I couldnt fall asleep, i would try to wait up until he got home, if i tried to wait until he got home this whole deployment to sleep i would be dead. so you just learn. And now it seems so silly that i was so afraid before!! i would never have kept blinds open at night before deployment. Contrary to what you think, there are no boogie monsters! who would have thought?!

Murphy turned out to visit me quite often, and especially this passed month. Anything and everything that CAN happen, WILL happen. Its the name of the game.... but you never really expect it all to happen, at once, or within a short period of time, but it does. Its crazy the things you can endure and still remain sane! It seems like its the little things that make you break down, when the big things that happen such as an oven fire just cruise on by and you dont focus on what could have happened, you just move forward.

Ive learned alot these passed months. I wouldnt necessarily say I WANT to do it again, but i am thankful for this process. It gave me tools that i was missing, it gave me confidence, and it let me grow. I am more independent and i believe in myself. I know the things I am capable of.

6 months ago  I would have NEVER yanked out a fork out of the garbage disposal, no way! i would have waited for brian to get home from work. 6 months ago I would never put up curtain rods or fix bikes, those too would have waited for daddy to get home!  I wouldnt have drove places i didnt know where i was going. I would have never learned the strength that i truely have. It however, does not mean that once he gets home I wont need him to do things, because I will. It does mean that I will sleep sounder with a "strong man" in the house. But knowing that i gave the kids comfort and showed them the strength that i had and gave it my all is what makes me proudest.  I was a mommy and a daddy all in one, but i will be more than willing to give that daddy role back once he steps off that ship and onto the pier!

I was and am fortunate enough to have one amazing man coming home to me and his wonderful kids. He has done his best to keep track on the kids and to take the important steps to remain in their lives, and In mine. He never once shut us off or took his deployment as time away from us... physically YES, mentally NO. He spends his ports in a library or with wifi, or at the computer lab, skyping us as many times as he can. For that I am thankful. Its worth the 30 dollars for him to call us once every few weeks. He's an amazing man and I we are BLESSED to have him in our lives. But I too think he is blessed to have us. Not too toot my own horn, but "beep, ba, beep beep beep!!!!!!

Good Morning America

Good morning!

Well last time I blogged, I said it would be NOVEMBER when we "caught" up next, and it is! November 10th already. Today is a very important day, because it marks something very special, rewarding, and leaves me hanging with a big smile on my face. Although I cannot fully explain the situation, i still want you all to "relish" in the excitement, Just know, that it is the light at the end of the tunnel. This big train has a BIG huge light, shining bright, and we can see the "end". Oh gosh, there go the Butterflies in my belly!

So this week has been a rather fun and busy week. Today marks a week since I started going to the gym. I feel so good when i leave the gym, and i dont actually "dread" going. I very much enjoy it. The kids have a play area, where they make friends, and the other half of the room has 4 machines, and weights  3 of which of the machines are already claimed. By me, my friend Erin, and Ms. 3 Hour Eliptical.... Pam. Our kids all play really well together, and she is very nice. She spends 3 hours a day in that gym. Now that is dedication. I get and hour in, and i am done. 4 miles and a very nicely paced run and walk, is plenty for me. PLUS with there being no air in that room, i am sweating like a whore in church, sorry if that offends any of you, but its the honest to god truth. Leaving the gym i feel this "high". I am proud that i am doing something for myself, and making others proud. Erin and I hold each other accountable; which is nice! The gym was never something I loved, and looked forward too, however i do enjoy the running. BUT i have been looking forward to the gym, and i definetly love to see the numbers on my scale, because of the hard work i have been putting in. "operation Knock your socks off" is in full swing!! I have lost a total of (since brian has been gone) 22 pounds. so, that's something right?! Plus I havent been this "light" since 2006ish!  So, i have found some confidence that has been hiding under a fat flap! Plus, i tried on a size 9 skinny jean the other day and even got a squeal out of Keni in the fitting room! Oh yeah, momma looked good, she said..... Or thats what i Like to believe!

On with other parts of the week..........

We have been doing arts n crafts with slades friend Wesley. Erin has planned and purchased some very awesome crafts that help the kids brains explore. they have made Pinecone turkeys, mosaic turkeys, sequence bulbs, window gems and the newest was gluing crayons to a canvas and blowdrying them so they melt and ooze down the canvase. VERY cool! we have learned that crayola is the best for boldness of color, opposed to a cheaper crayon. But still, VERY cool. Slade wasn't fond of the blowdrying part, he wouldnt partake in it, so that was sort of a bust, but Wesley sure wasnt shy at giving it a good try!

we also had a breifing on homecoming this week, we had a sleep over, we made cookies and took walks. We have also had alot of time outs and squabbling.  Its time for daddy to come home in our minds, but its not time officially yet, so its a constant struggle of trying to remain sane, and keep the kids inline. But we have come so far and done so well, its got to remain that way. Just keep swimming!!

So Also, this week i got the kids' or shall i say "santa" got the kids their big gifts! they are tucked away in layaway, so atleast santa has a "start". the kids wont be dissapointed. Its  a weight lifted off of my shoulders now that a little bit of christmas  is tucked away.

I also had a very long phone call from the hubby this week. It was a wonderful call. We laughed so hard, and just had good conversation. A very refreshing phone call, not getting caught up in other things, we just enjoyed the conversation and it gave me a good outlook for the passed couple of days. I needed that phone call, and i am happy to of had that!!!

This week was a growth spurt for both the kids. i dont know what it is, or if it was just a strike to get new jammies, but they both grew out of their cotton jammies where their bellys are hanging out. Haha. Their midsection grew? haha. also, sissy's vocabulary has grown. She says SO MUCH. im teaching her "love you". so she has been saying it, and now i say "love you daddy" and she says "wub you dadda"AHHH thats a heart melter!!! Slades drawing skills are astonishing! i cant believe how well he can draw at his age. he makes me smile so big! they both do, well hell, all 3 do. Im a very proud mother and wife.

Well folks, i have an eye appointment to get to this morning,so i need to suck down my coffee and get the kids and I ready to head off to the dr! Hopefully the kids cooperate enough so momma can get new contacts! that way i can see brian NICE and CLEAR, when that time comes!!!

Oh, and for those of you who got thanksgiving photo's, how'd you like em? Gobble gobble!! :D

Ta Ta for now my loves!

Last week in October.....Already?!

Well hello readers! Fancy meeting you here!

This week has not been that busy, nor have we been up to much.... But never the less a few things have gone on that are worth "blogging" about! So lets get started!

This passed weekend We had A great time. We baked halloween cookies, and frosted them, we painted our pumpkins, we had friends over for a big "fall" dinner. It was alot of fun. Normally we carve our pumpkins but this year i decided i would rather paint. Since there is only one of me, and 2 pumpkins needing to be carved and hallowed out, Lets face it, its not that easy to carve with a large knife and keep the eyes on the kids throwing seeds, just doesnt seem easy in my head so i thought the kids painting would be a wiser choice. Plus, its a tradition that i like to have the husband in on (the carving part), and since we did everything with out him such as birthdays and such, this is one tradition i didnt want to have to do alone. So i thought painting, would give the kids something of a "mom" tradition for this year.  They seemed to really enjoy it. I think sissy learned that Paint doesnt taste as good as it looks. Learn the hard way my friends, thats the only way!

So after the weekend was over, our week started. My week has been sort of a mess. the kids have been having colds, and like most households when one kid is sick and then starting to feel better, the next one gets sick, so we've been dealing with this cold bug for 5  days now. But its alright because even though i am a germaphobe, all kids need to be subject to sickness so that way their immune systems can build up. Im trying to subject the kids to more germs even though it freaks me out. like everything else, this too, is a learning process.

So slade had karate this week, so he was feeling better on wednesday so i thought, well hey, i will take him. Get there and it had been TUESDAYS, so we missed it. Shoot! SO we have a make-up class today, but sissy is not feeling good and running a slight fever so, i havent told slade yet, but i think this week just isnt going to "pan out" for karate. But next week we will be sure to be there with bells on!

So as we were dealing with sniffles, my friend Erin has returned home from Australia. We got to catch up and it was really nice (Erin doesnt mind germs ;) ). I had missed her, and the kids were playing really well together. I enjoy her son wesley, he's a very sweet boy. We went for a nice walk and chit chatted. Very nice.

Yesterday we had something PRETTY awesome to do. We had a chance to video teleconference with Brian. it was something i didnt think we would have the chance to do. Its just the same as Skype, but on a larger screen. it seemed so formal to walk into a setting like that. I hadnt told the kids what we were doing, i had just said it was a "suprise" so that way, incase something didnt work out (as knowing the military, nothing ever goes according to plan). I've learned from prior lessons that if you say a "surprise" they look forward to "something"....but if you say "DADDY"....and you dont get "daddy", then you are in some very DEEP and HOT water!

So when we finally got into the proper building and down the hallway that seemed like it was never ending, they put us in this room that looked like a college classroom. It had a bazillion spinning and wheeled chairs, this looked like a gym to the kids so, as we were waiting for a half hour for them to hook brian up to the teleconference in a seperate room.... the chairs kept the kids busy, as did the handfull of men coming in and out saying things like "we can see him, but we cant hear him", "we've got him but we have some kinks..." things of that sort, KILLED the surprise and slade knew what we were doing. But what he thought was that "daddy was there". So he was a bit dissapointed when we made the long trek across the hallway to another room, where he realized daddy was just on a tv; he was greeted with a big white shiney smile from daddy. and that was all the kids, (and i for that matter) needed! the walk up from the door to where we needed to be seated felt like it took years. We could see him, but he couldnt see us, and the smile on my face was uncontrollable. The smiles from the guys who set up the video conference was heart warming. They stood there watching us watch brian for a minute with big smiles. That has to be a heart warming job, of "reuniting" the families on screen, i know that i would get smiles from other peoples happiness.

The joy you feel over something that seems so small to other people is amazing. Seeing brian on a screen is my security. I can see him. I can hear him. That is my hug, kiss and hello rolled all into one. That is what we hang on to until next time. Knowing we are SO CLOSE, yet so far, from the real deal, is a bittersweet feeling. But our time is coming, and its so exciting!

Brians home coming is still a surprise for slade and Keni. They know nan and papa are coming in X amount of days, But they have NO IDEA that daddy is. We are still working out how exactly the surprise is going to go down, but as you all know my cameras (yes plural) are attatched to my hands so you all will get photos and video's to be part of our re-uniting.

Our weekend is probably going to be pretty boring. I have bills to pay. Groceries to by. Germs to rid. And a costume to make. So that is what we will be doing. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. The next time you all read my words will be in NOVEMBER! how weird is that?! A good weird!

Take care Polar Bears!

Can it be?

Hi everyone!

Today marks 2 weeks of being back in virginia beach! and it doesn't feel like it! It feels like we just got here. Feels like i should still be looking through boxes and putting stuff in its place. Oh wait, i kind of still am.  Time is Whizzing past without a blink of an eye; Quite frankly, that is a tremendous thing.  Now that we are coming close to the end of deployment, time is going to start to slow down, and that is something I am not looking forward too (the slowing down part!) so keeping us busy is going to be my plan and my main focus! and busy is what we have been!

So yesterday things sort of came to a head. We had a horrible day where "murphy" thought he would like to get a months worth of "problems" and "situations", just toss them into an afternoon. Maybe that means that i am good for a couple of weeks. Free of problems....That sure would be nice. Not likely, but i can dream can't I?

I just want to say how proud I am of my Son. As frustrated as he makes me sometimes, he is an amazing child. He really takes his role "man of the house" very seriously. Daddy tells him that he needs to help out mommy, and be the man. He helps as MUCH as he can. Even tho sometimes it just creates more work or problems for me, he still "helps". And even tho at times I come to the end of my rope in patience, i try to remind myself that we are all trying, we are all hanging onto each day. So he helps sissy up and down the stairs, he plays dress up with her, he takes out the trash with me, he helps me cook and put groceries away. While in the store he helps me get what we need and puts it on the conveyer at the check out. He reminds me of things, he helps in ANY WAY that he can. Daddy, I know you are reading this, He surely isn't letting you down. Be proud of him, Be very proud!

Kendal is growing by the day, and becoming more girlie, (if that is even possible) as the time goes on. She wears a tutu every day... and she demands it be on, along with atleast one necklace, bracelets and sometimes she is even equipped with a crown! she is NOT a princess, she just loves her accessories!  She naps with her tutu on, she eats with it on, she thinks she is adorable; She is right. On one hand she is the epitome of a girl, but on the other hand she is rough, tough, and FEARLESS! Yesterday she fell down the stairs twice, rug burning her nose. Its that head, im telling you, its too heavy and throws her off kilter. One day she will grow into those brains! Also while i was clipping her nails yesterday, she was being a stinker and pulled her hand away while i was clipping her pinky nail, and she ripped half of it off. My heart sank and i felt terrible. She gave me the look of "what the fuck mom?!" .... She didnt cry, she just watched it bleed. At this time slade was running around frantic ( i think it was HIS nail that got ripped off from the way he was acting) He was searching for bandaids, yelling "im trying sis, brothers got ya, brothers got ya!". He indeed had it under control, bandaged her up, and she was good to go. Rough and tough? i Think so!

So our week has been packed with bike rides, walks, trips to the store, beach trips, playing out side, learning letters, crafts, pumpkin picking, farmers market, Karate, halloween parties!! phew! Its been a FUN week! Made it go by real fast!  Slade sure is learning, and you ought to see him at Karate! Its called chopsticks, its a mixture of karate technique with gymnatics aspects of tumbling, handstands and such. He was having such a good time learning and making friends. I was having fun watching him, but i guess that was only a one time deal. On the way home, he asked me if sis and I could take a long walk while he is in karate, because i embarrass him when i watch. Ha! Really? I told him i didnt want to embarrass him so i wont stay to watch anymore. He politely said "thank you momma". I couldnt help but giggle when he asked me that. little does he know, you can watch from outside too! :)

Well thats all for my update right now. THe kids are being animals!
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Ready & Willing

Well happy saturday!

Today marks 8 days (technically over a full weeks worth of time) in our new house! I am happy to report that we are doing fantastic. The newness is still raw, and the novelty of being back in virginia beach is gratifying! There is something calm and soothing about where we live. Just close enough to smell the ocean air, close enough to shopping and the pier, and most of all, in perfect proximity to the base to feel and hear the rumble of the jets flying over head. The only thing missing is soon on his way!

We are living in the same Court as most of you already have read, and our neighbors are quite friendly and quiet. We started our first week out here with a BANG! Our oven caught on fire..... we had to call 911, fire trucks came, dismantled my oven, the whole 9 yards! It was quite terrifying for all 3 of us., but it hit slade the hardest. He wouldnt sleep in his bed with fear that another fire would occur,  But alas, we have a new oven and its working "perfectly",  and slade is now sleeping in his own bed again .... as i sit here and knock on wood (my coffee table), to not jinx what we've got!

We made our trip out here with a huge thank you to my Father and Grand Father! They put a lot of breaks, sweat and mullah into my moving and i couldnt tell them how thankful and appreciative I am to have them in my life, and to do something as huge as moving me and my family 4 states away! It was amazing to see the love that my grandfather has for us and my father for that matter. Grandpa reading to my kids was something i had never seen before, I dont even think I have had a book read to me from him, but it was very special. Spending those 3 days with him & my dad was something i will never forget. It was a very cool trip. Although my dad blew his breaks on his truck, and i have an over abundance of quote on quote "SHIT" and i must downsize (what i heard from them multiple times)..... they were energizer bunnies loading and unloading trip after trip from the storage unit. I felt bad saying I was tired so i just didnt say anything at all. They set all the beds up they did everything...... Gosh, thank you just doesnt say enough!  I recruited 2 friends to help the "ol" guys out. So a huge THANK YOU goes to Tommy & Corey as well. Pizza was a reward but it wasnt nearly enough to show my gratitude.

Im fully recovered from my procedure. I hadn't really told anyone aside from a few family members and tight/close friends, that while i was getting my surgery done, they tied my tubes, so no more houts babies. We are fortunate to have a boy and a girl, who are amazing children, that having more just isnt necessary. Even though i am obsessed with babies, and i would have a million of those beautiful children running around, We just cant afford it. So we count our blessings for the 2 we have, and move forward in our lives. My procedure went well, they found that my uterus is covered in vericose veins, and a hysterectomy is recommended, its the only thing that will take away my pain. So im a tad frustrated, and a lot freaked out. But all will go smoothly, and I have a while to think it over and decide the best way to go about this. I am waiting until my husband home, so we will be able to sit down and talk to about it (not just type) then we will go from there. So until then, all i can do is wait, and bare with it.

Another huge thank you to my parents for taking care of me and the kids while i recovered. i couldnt lift for 2 days, so they picked the kids up, cooked us meals, packed up my house, they went above and beyond, and again, i couldnt describe how thankful i am!

We just got to "see"  Brian this week on skype while he was ported. He looks amazing and sounds even better. The kids love to see him, and Keni was showing off to him! He got to "sit" at the table with us while we ate scrambled ham and eggs, and then he watched the kids play and run around. It was the first time he's gotten to see sis IN ACTION, she was running around like an animal, talking and playing, i think it was a lot to take in for daddy, but he did it with a big smile on his face. I think it was "medicine" for all of us. Soon enough he will be home, playing along with us, but until then, those little moments are all we have to cling to, so making the best of them is what matters most.

So i just learned today that i am going to be an auntie again come APRIL! WHOO HOOO!! congratulations to the HART family!! Love you all!

We got a package from Brian this week, so its been a great week and disastrous week, so that means it was eventful right?!

We are all settled in, and loving it. We have seen friends, taken walks, played at playgrounds, went shopping, filled the house with groceries, and just took the time to enjoy the fresh air and warm weather!

Well guys, that is all for now.
Toodles!

The path less traveled......

When you have to sit at home all by yourself every evening while you kids are fast asleep, you find yourself doing a lot of thinking and soul searching. You find yourself looking at the big picture of what god has laid out, and what is in store to come next. You tend to over analyze, and re think every decision. Having free time to yourself is sometimes a burden, because if you are anything like me, that brain, NEVER shuts off. But sometimes, its for good reasons......

Today as I laid on the futon mattress strategically placed in front of the tv, listening to Kendal babbling away in her crib, awaiting that morning kiss and smile.... I just lay there, smiling myself, thinking about how far I have come since I have been by alone with the kids, in 4 and a half short months.... How much growth progress I have made, and Self confidence I have gained. How many hard times and struggles I have had to face head on, and how many life milestones I have seen without the eyes of Brian right next to me. I am proud of myself. I never thought that I couldn't do this, but there are always doubts. When brian is around, I am a very Dependent person. He fixes everything, and He is my GO TO person.....Without him here, you figure out other ways to do things and i have realized how to do things on my own. Although its been a hard, sweat, stress and tear- filled process, its been worth it. Way more than "worth it". I needed this for myself. We've needed it for our marriage. And the kids needed this to see me grow.

Before Brian left for deployment, we done everything as a family. Brian is my right hand man. He equally parents and manages our marriage. I couldn't have picked a better man. But he has always been for himself. He kept his hopes and dreams alive as mine fizzled and unraveled . Before he left we had sat down and talked where i poured out things to him that i had never admitted feeling, i always repressed them to stay strong and stand behind his decisions and be proud of him being so successful. But with me being behind him and pushing him to his goals, my goals and aspirations became a distant thought in my mind, and what was causing the main thought in my mind-- Im only going to be a mother and a wife. I wont have a career to make my children proud of me. What if Keni sees me as "just" a stay at home mom, with no career, serving the family and thats what she would inspire to be? why isnt that good enough for her, but its good enough for me? Brian told me at that point and time that he didnt know i felt that way, but after that conversation was over, i thought that was as far as it was going to go....

While he's been on deployment, he has been doing character building "classes" and "finding" himself. He has encouraged me to go go school, and gave up on his big dreams and settled for smaller, so that we BOTH can be successful, and happy. For him to do this, is huge. For him to think about both of us and not just his "big" picture that the future holds, is leaps and bounds. He is something else. I want to say that Brian is a great family man. His kids and I are his world, but his dreams are very important to him almost more important than family, im not saying that dreams shouldnt be that way, but they are called "dreams" for a reason. And for him to pick something more tangible than being a commercial pilot, so that i can reach my goal of becoming "something", makes me happier than ever to be standing by the husband I have.

So to move on to a different subject since most of you are probably on the verge of vomiting from me talking about my husband, I will change the topic to my amazing children!

When we moved out here, things were different. I was a control freak (as i still am but i will explain why things have changed a bit).... Sladen never had stayed over at someone elses house WITHOUT me before we moved here except maybe once or twice. But its been a weekly thing where he will stay with my parents or brians gram for a night. He thinks that this is the coolest thing since sliced bread and he feels like he is "something else" when i allow him to call them and ask to spend the night. He feels very independent and it has been great for the bonds he has formed with those individuals. As hard as it was at first to let my baby go, the smiles on all their faces when i arrive to pick him up the next day are amazing. To hear him describe in detail what he had done over the course of the previous day makes me beam with pride. I know he loves  me, and he makes me know that by squeezing the life out of me, or shooting me that "thank" you smile when i greet him. I miss him like crazy when he is gone, and i am bored out of my mind, but it is good for him to have other figures in his life to rely on and bond with. The "man" time he gets with my dad takes the place of what brian can't do right now. I am thankful for the amazing support I have around me. With out it, i would have been a goner. the passed 4.5 months has given me so much to be thankful for, and see that there IS a reason this deployment is happening.

When brian left Keni had 4 teeth, working on 6. When he left she was just starting to become a pro at crawling. She also was still on baby food and bottles. Not pulling herself up yet or any of that! My how things have changed. She is going to be a different little girl when daddy lays eyes on her for the first time. I would say she was bald when he left and when he gets back she'll have hair, but then i would be lying. i guess there are some things that dont change!

So i guess what i was trying to write about in this blog was that as a family of 3 right now, we have grown. we have characteristics about ourselves that we didnt have before. We have a sense of independance and growth that we didnt have before. We have a new found love and NEED for Brian. When things get taken away from us, for just this short period of time, it makes us realize who and what we really need in our lives, and it gives us a new sense of appreciation for what we have, and for what we want.

I am thankful for this deployment. I look at it as it was needed. Brian and I had a strong relationship before he left. But we have a new sense of appreciation for eachother. As close to a bullet proof marriage as we can make it, i would say. He can look at me and be proud at the things i have acomplished, and I can do the same for him. I am proud of the man he is. I am proud of what he does for the Navy and for us. I am proud to be married to him for the REST of my life. And dammnit, I am proud of myself as well!

Time marches on!

Hi everyone!

Well, we sure are counting down the time for moving day! My ducks are starting to line up in a row, and soon we will be Virginia Beach bound, for yet another move to add to our list, making slades current total of moves since birth.... drum roll please.......8 moves and he is 4. yes my friends, 8 moves! We are very optimistic for this move, and for once i am not stressing out. All things happen for a reason, its always my mentality for thinking, so I am just trying to let it all roll off my shoulders and enter this with a level head. There is a lot to do, a lot to handle, but i am confident that with my amazing support system, it CAN be done! My dad and grandfather are driving me and the kids to our new home. they are towing a trailer and filling my dads truck, as well as filling my truck. I have alot of stuff to move, and I am ever so grateful for the people in my life.

This week has had a lot happen in just 5 short days. One of which was my sister. She had a very scary episode on wednesday morning. She was stricken with stroke like symptoms. she couldnt talk without sluring, she couldnt walk, her limbs were numb, and she had memory loss. Thankfully it turned out to be a migraine headache. It is a "specific" kind of migraine, but i cannot think of the proper word so i am not going to guess. It starts with an H. It is an actually condition, and thankfully she is okay. The kids and I went out to stay with her and her family for a night to help out. It was a great stay and it was very much needed. It felt good to help my sister out.

I cannot describe how great i feel ever since my thyroid meds have been prescribed. I have so much energy. I feel like my old self. I have not felt this much like me since we moved here. i am happy and relieved to know that my old self is back. i think there are a lot of others who feel the same way. I will admit, i was acting strange, but i couldnt get out of it. but i am back. Brian called to talk to me today and He said that it is really great to hear me sound so good. its noticable in my voice that i feel really good. That is a huge sense of relieve to me!

Today I had a doctors appointment for my endometriosis. I will be having a laparoscopic surgery done a week from today. I am extremely calm, and ready for it. what i am not ready for is other people taking care of me and my kids until i can again. I am also not looking forward to that gas they pump you full of to do the procedure. but it has to be done, so i am ready and willing. Its a simple procedure that doesnt take very long so noone be alarmed. recovery time is only a couple of days so i will be up and running in no time!

Well i guess I was the CENTER of this blog. Hmm.... its all about me. haha.
Everyone have a wonderful weekend!!

Time is of the essence.

Wow well, Quite a bit has happened here at the "Houts" Hold while i had a minor hiatus on blogging. No real reason why i haven't blogged except that I didn't feel like it, or when i did feel like it i was busy and didn't have the time to sit at the computer and type while the kids are doing only god knows what.... So i wait until times likes these; when Kendal is sleeping and Sladen is enjoying his evening movie and Hot-wheels in peace, without the terrorizing sister kicking through his parking lot or sitting on his towers. He is ever so patient, but he LOVES his alone time.

So lets get started.

Kendal and Slade had their doctor yearly checkups. They are doing great and growing like little weeds... Cuter weeds than dandelions, but weeds none the less!  I guess thats what happens when you feed and water them with healthy foods and drinks! Which leads me to slades nook jar that seems to be filling right up! He is eating those fruits and vegetables like a champ! He says he's going to be big and strong like daddy. That he is my friends....That he is!

Kendal is cutting 2 of the last 4 teeth in. Seems like these 4 teeth have been giving her a run for her money. its almost like they keep playing a mean game of hide and go seek. Except there are no giggles coming from this game! Just a lot of painful days and nights, and  alot of restless, sleepless nights. I will be thankful when the teeth are through and I know she will be too! Her vocabulary is getting quite large. I mean how large can it be at a year old? but you know what i mean. She says things like please, thank you, welcome, papa, bubby, momma, da da, bert, yes, no......  (now let me explain something... she is not an "on command" type of gal. She is "do at my own leisure and pace" type of gal. ) So are these words always flowing? no. Does she call me a liar sometimes? yes. BUT she CAN say them, and she DOES know them! She just inherited the stubborn genes from her....... FATHER. ha! She is doing really great. When you tell her to do something, she knows what it is and does it. she is a pretty smart young lady. She can eat with silver ware and she prefers them. not like her caveman brother who was born in a barn and chooses not to use the shiny silverware.

Now the caveman brother is doing really well. he is so independent; and he thrives off of it. We got him walkie talkies for his birthday, and i let him play out in the backyard if he takes one with him. He plays out there, i radio in to him "what are you doing?" or if he's not in window sight i say "i cant see you, move where i can see you"....and he does. He just plays out there knowing that he is such a big boy. That makes me smile. he's so independent and growing so much. He is no longer my baby, but my Little man! He is really excited to get settled in virginia beach to get started at pre-school. he is MORE than ready!

So packing has started and time is running short. We have 18 days left here in michigan. And its real bitter sweet. We get to move into our new house and set it up before daddy gets home, and we have visitors already planning dates to come on by. We are getting excited, and the calender is filling up!  but its going to be hard to leave our family and friends, yet again. Its going to be hard to up root the kids from people they see on a daily and weekley basis....But that is the name of the game, and i am fortunate to have such loving and understanding parents. They help me BEYOND believe and without them and help from grandma kay,  i would have been lost through this process. They kept me afloat and I am forever grateful.

Moving plans are being set into motion and its becoming "real life...."

I have had dr's appointments and I am getting my body straightened out. I am on thyroid medication and it is bringing me back to life and out of my lazy slump. My body is still trying to get used to the medication, but i can tell it is working. Thank goodness. I also have another appointment to try and get my endometriosis evaluated and get it under control. I am in a lot of pain and it is very uncomfortable. in due time...... in due time.

Brian is doing really well, and he seems to be enjoying his time on deployment now that he is back to the squadron. He looks really great and seems to be in good spirits. He called me this week and that gave me my weekly husband boost! haha. That is one amazing man!

Alright well, its time for me to close this thing off. Im sure I have left quite a bit out. I will try and blog again soon. Until then, Love to you all and Enjoy the fall weather, isnt it wonderful?!

Finding Myself.

Lately I havent been very motivated. I have been very lazy, and its almost embarrassing. Not almost-- Completely embarrassing. I am doing things that arent inside my character at all. For instance, leaving messes until i feel like getting to them, later that day, or even the next day! Not doing dishes until they stack up. Not mopping the floors weekly, not doing any weekly or daily chores. Its very embarrasing when people just stop by... because my house isnt presentable. I have never been like that, Nor do i want to be like that. I always have floors mopped, and vacuumed. Dishes are done and put away. Toilets are clean, showers are clean, everything tidied up...So why am i not doing that anymore?... I Dont feel like myself, and I feel a bit lost. I havent even been doing my make-up or caring what i wear. But Today while i forced myself to mop the floors on my hands and knees, I came to the realization that over the process of caring for the kids and brian during deployment, i have lost who i am, and Instead of trying to figure it out and make myself do things, I have just let go on my duties and taking care of myself, and focused more on the kids. They are always dressed. they are always clean. They have food and their needs are met, but why arent mine? Why am I letting myself go and what i take pride most in (my house) when that should be  what is most important?

Trying to figure out who to be or who you are without your other half is not easy. I find myself not having anyone to impress so why even care? Why have the house clean because there isnt anyone to come home to see it?! That isnt how my brain functions on a normal every day basis, so why am i letting it over power me?  Why am I letting laziness and moppiness get the best of me? I need my old self back, and i realized that its not just going to miraculously find me once brian gets home, I need to remain that person so I dont fall behind and become someone I am not. I need to take hold of who i used to be.

I will be the first to admit im not the same as i was before he left. I try to be, but Im not. I let him being gone get the best of me, but Im done with that. I need to move on in my brain and not focus on him not being around to impress. I need to impress myself...and do things to make myself proud.  I have let the stress go. I have let the anger go. I have let the insecurities and mindlessness go, because that is what is best. I need to focus on who I am and not worry about who i am becoming. This is not me. This lazy person is not me. I need to grab ahold of who I really am and take it back because i didnt like what i was seeing. Im not a person who lets their house smell. I am not a person who doesnt do dishes at night. Im not a person who lets a ring be visible in the toilet bowl-- So why was I letting that "person" over come me? why was I not caring? WHo knows, but now i realize, now i am aware, so now things change back to how they used to be!

I know this might sound cheesy to some people reading this. But you have to remember, that this blog is for jotting down what is in my brain and letting people read it. Its not always going to make sense to everyone. But it makes sense to me so thats what matters.

Sooner than Later!

Hi to you all!

Another week is gone, and i didnt accomplish too much. But what did get accomplished, is that i touched base with several friends that i NEEDED to hear from, housing got approved, and moving date is confirmed!

I have a bright start for my weekend to start out awesomely! Actually It was a friend filled week. I had a playdate with my friend Jaclyn & her 2 children, met my friend heather & her daughter for a picnic at the park, I chatted with Erin & Lindsy on the phone for the first time (other than Fb &Texts), then my friend heather had a sleepover last night. It was great to have company and hear friendly voices. You dont realize how much you miss the people you care about until you hear from them. It was very refreshing to hear those voices. Friends, when you have great ones, are as good as family, and thats heartwarming. I of course have great friends outside of the ones above mentioned, but this week was just so refreshing. Just when i feel all is getting on track, I get sucked back into reality.

Housing called yesterday. We got into The same military housing we were in before, and THE SAME COURT! can you believe it? I couldnt believe that there was a house available on the court where we know our neighbors.... I feel we got sort of lucky. However it ISNT an end unit, but thats okay, because its a 4 bedroom so that makes up for the window loss! we lose 4 windows.......which means, i am going to have an over abundance of curtains! But i will have a spare bedroom. I have NEVER had a spare bedroom. How exciting! company wont have to take slades room, and slade wont have to crash in our room. Or i can make it into a play room, Oh the possibilities are endless!

Moving date is relatively soon. Its less than 2 months away. That really leaves no time for anything. This my friends is very much bitter sweet. Are you ready for the moving date? October 7th is when we pick up the keys in virginia beach (and when i say we, i mean the kids and I, some of you thought brian was going to be there for this, he wont, not for months after we move back in). So that means we have to leave atleast a day prior. Our original plan was to move back around a month before brian got home, but when our housing came up that kind of shot the old plan to hell, so you just have to roll with the punches. so our stay here is cut off over a month early. Leaving me speechless as too how quick the time is actually moving. 2 months is essentially no time at all, so i have to get my ass moving. I need to get "shit"done.

This morning has consisted of me inquiring for quotes of moving companies.I have never used a moving company, and it will be coming out of our pocket, but so would all the gas and tolls and food/ hotels and all of that. Im trying to weigh my options and really look at all aspects across the board and what works best and easiest for me and the kids. Its not an easy task to think about. Once the plan is in motion and we are on the road will be the easiest part. If i can pack up my life in 2 days, say "see you soon" to my husband/daddy and move 4 states away, get lost 3 times, and do it all in less than 4 days total with two kids and a grandmother-inlaw, i am confident i can move us back; its just hard to think about.

Its very much bittersweet because this will be slades first Halloween somewhere other than Michigan. We have been away for the last 3 halloweens, but we have come home on leave for him to trick or treat in my old neighborhood and be with family. This year he will be trick or treating in virginia beach. It will be a new memory. It will be sisters first real halloween, and its sad that family will only get to join in by looking at pictures. But I guess thats all in the name of this military game. It comes with perks and lots of bittersweetness. When i first got the call yesterday I was really excited. I was excited to be back with my virginia beach friends and await the home coming of brian. But when it actually hit me that the kids and I will be leaving my parents and friends and family, that was like a "oh wow" moment.....all these things i have been thinking about (moving in a couple months) came rushing at me in a matter of seconds. Its hard to think about leaving your support system. Just when you think you have things in order, and you have a system going, life throws you a curve ball. I guess you just ride it out with a smile on your face!

So as far as this weekend goes, im going to be seeing my neice and nephew, and having a scentsy party. I am then followed up with slades birthday on thursday, his party on saturday, then labor day weekend is our family reunion. after those 3 weekends it only gives me 4 more weekends before i leave. If that doesnt leave me ghost white in panic, im not sure what does!

However moving early gives me lots of time to get the house ready for brian to come home. Slade says we have to fill daddy's fish tank and buy him new fishies since daddy had to get rid of his "old babies" (slades words) and apperantly daddy needs a turtle. and daddy if you are reading this, i guess he's going to pick you out some cool fish and a turtle named lou lou he said! I guess we will see. I will keep you all posted, but i think since i was getting lots of questions, this might help clarify some things!

Well i think that is all. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Where does time go?!

First Off, Hello!

I cant believe that it is already Mid August! Feels like the kids and I just got here, but we have been here for 3 months. Things i had planned to do while we were here is left undone, and it leaves me speechless as to where the hell the days go!  Time goes so quickly and its gone before you realize. It was just May, and now summer is almost over, and fall is in the air. The kids and I are soon to be packing, before we know it that day will be here! A day that will be very much bitter sweet. I know I have yet to see a lot of you. Seems like im in my own world over here. I know that i keep to myself. Its hard to go for 3 years without anyone around, you just get used to that lifestyle. I know i use that as a crutch or an excuse, i just need to get my ass out and about.

So this week has been quite the week already. I applied for housing and i have yet to hear back. And My friend Kristin has been keeping an eye out for a good deal on a rental house for us, out in virginia beach.  she found this ad on craigslist. So i emailed and replied to the add. It was a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath, beautiful house in a wonderful neighborhood. One of those "too good to be true" deals. The rent was only 1000 a month (which is amazing for the area)..... so they sent me an email application and right away I was "accepted". without previous rental history and all the bells and whistles. They said they were sending the keys to me within 24 hours and they were ready to give me the information to send my first months rent and deposit. RED FLAG! first of all i hadnt seen the place, they havent done a background check or anything like that, it just was VERY fishy. I've never known a landlord to rent a house without atleast meeting the persons first. And you dont pay until you sign the lease. So i went with my gut and wrote them back and told them a lie of "we found a place, we just got confirmation today"..... please disreguard all previous information given. I havent heard back from them since, and it just didnt sit well with me. SO i did some searching. Their craigslist post had been flagged already, so it was a SCAM. they were going to take all my money. good thing my gut told me not to go through with anything. I cut it off in time. I could be broke right now. Broker than i already Am...hahaa. Goes to show how being nieve can get you in some fishy situations. SO, no more craigslisting for me. well for houses anyways ;).

Can you believe that my oldest baby is going to be 4 in 8 days?! Great balls of fire!!! It seems like i was just holding him while he cooed and nibbled on his bottle. How can he already be 4? Hes turing into a little man and his looks are changing Immensely. He's finally getting some height..... phew! He's been going through this phase that he thinks its a good thing to growl at me when he's mad. Um nope, not going to Fly Mr! Find a different outlet other than growling!

Keni is growing big. Shes a little barney. I couldnt have more complete opposite children. Slades so laid back, where as keni is uptight. Slade is mild manored, where keni is outspoken (yes even at 1). Slade has patience (for the most part) Keni, Not a chance, what the hell is patience?! Slade is small and meek, keni is beefy and tough. The rougher you play with her, the more she laughs. They fight a lot, and keni will wrestle the hell out of sladen. She does things she knows will piss slade off, just to get a rise out of him. Yes, i have my hands full, i cringe thinking of teen years.

This weekend is my scentsy party. It is 11 am - 2 pm. its an open house so its come and go as you please. I will have some snacks and it will be a great time.

The following weekend is slades "rawring 4th birthday party!"..... its at the county park, there will be swimming, playing at the play ground, cake of course, a pinatta at his request, its going to be a really great time. Im looking forward to it. He sure deserves a special day. He's been great since brian has been gone. He listens to his daddy and he is the "man of the house". He helps momma when he can. Doesnt mean he hasnt given me a run for my money with his attitude, but we are all trying to cope and deal. I say we are doing pretty darn good.

This expirience is really making me grow. Ive felt myself evolve a little bit. When brians around, i tend to lean on him, i become less independent and more dependent. When something needs fixed, or slade needs something built or put together, the words "just wait until your daddy comes home, he will help you" just blurt out of my mouth, where as here,  its all momma. I have proudly built 3 rescue machines out of legos (with directions)! I have attempted however I couldnt complete, the transformer, but  i gave it my best shot! I have done alot that makes me step back and say to myself "go you!". I think when you are in a marriage and parenting you kind of lose yourself and you kind of morph together. Its a bit of a shock at first to be seperated, but now i see the things i could have done before. SUch as outtings. I would wait to take the kids somewhere so that i would have brian there not only to "do things as a family" but to have an extra set of hands. Now i just go. not because i have no choice, but because i want to. its very empowering. Im finding myself, and i am loving what and who i am seeing. Im not the only one who is changing, Brian is changing as well. He has always been and amazing man, flawed (as we all are), but amazing.... but even more so now. He is taking this time away from the kids and I, and he is using every tool to reflect and remain close to us. He is reading books to better us and keep us strong, he is taking classes and going to church!  Im So proud of him and the decisions he is making. He is no longer looking out for just himself, hes looking out for US. We've made a lot of mistakes in the past, but we are living from them, and to watch him give up his dream of becoming a commercial pilot, to help me have my own career brings me to tears. Is it only for me? No, of course not. But was he thinking of me when he made that decision? Of course. And that is one of many ways he truely is amazing. Many of you know brian very well, be proud of him, be very proud of him because he is simply amazing. He is a wonderful Man and father.

Well that is all for now. I have two fighting kids on my hands. both of which are wearing tutu's and riding cars.

Have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend!

Every Now and Again

Well good morning!

We have accomplished another week, and the weekend is here to stay! This week has been a hard week for me. I have been nose to nose with an almost 4 year old who is missing his daddy tremendously. Missing daddy on and off for all 3 of us has been tough but this week it hit us like a brick wall. I have yet to hear this many " i really miss daddy," "deployment is taking too long", "i dont like this house", "mommy, im really sad", and more comments. It seems like this week, they are non stop. normally its hit or miss, maybe 2 nights a week I would hear it. I have heard that month 3 is the hardest, and things are proving to be true. Tuesday and Wednesday, mainly tuesday, put me to the test. Slade tested my emotions almost to the point of no return. I felt helpless. I miss my husband tremendously, but i have overcome that feeling, but i am pained by my sons heartbreak at the need to lash out in order to "be heard" about missing daddy. For being so young, sladen is really good at telling me his feelings. The little bugger wears his heart on his sleeve, and majority of me is so proud to instill that into him. I dont feel the need for slade to have a "Tough skin". He is able to show his emotions and tell them to me as well. But i dont find smiling at me while he is getting yelled at, kicking his sister in the face, and deliberately disobeying counts as an outlet, and this week has tested the patience of both of us in that aspect. I saught help from a professional--My mother.

As i was faced with bills coming in, accounts dwindling, defiant toddler, teething baby, day to day tasks and favors, i found myself at the height of a mental breakdown. I called my mom in tears. I couldnt take holding it in and being strong, everyone has those days. and tuesday was mine. At the dinner table on Tuesday, slade was up and down, "mommy i have to pee", gagging his food, throwing it on the floor, not listening, sissy is throwing down her food, not eating, i found myself on the floor, sobbing, while cleaning up bits of stuffing and ham with a dish rag, when all of a sudden, my mom pulled in. she saved me. She helped me get the kids fed, bathed and ready for bed. All i needed was a little help. and Im always too stubborn to ask. I bottle up all these emotions and keep them locked away, in fear that people see me at my weakest. I am so bold faced and strong, but i do have those times where showing my emotion, and showing my weakness, makes me so vulnerable and i feel like a failure on all levels of the spectrum. but i needed that saving grace. that saving grace fixed my week.

The rest of the week, and teaching slade lessons like-- kicking Kendal in the face while im packing a picnic, results in NO picnic. Or leaving library books on the ground while i am buckling sissy in and mommy didnt know they were left, leads him to going to the library after the librarian calls the house, he apologizes and gets 2 weeks of no library (from mommy) to result in the learning process. Soap in the mouth for laughing while getting in trouble, and toys thrown away when they arent where they should be after being asked many times. these are my new ways.

Slade gets my sympathy with the missing daddy. I get it. I fully understand and I am aware. But to what extent am I willing to sacrifice all our hard work and dedication in aligning this child with great manors and a bright light? He needs to know that enough is enough, and it isnt okay to act this way. But it IS okay to miss his daddy, it IS okay to feel sad and hurt that daddy left, but it ISNT okay to treat mommy and sissy badly. He is learning, and it is a hard process but we are getting there. We have come this far, we are just waiting for the downhill run.

Walking Tall

Hello everyone!

Well its official. Sister took her first 3-4 steps on saturday, a couple more on monday, about a 100 or more yesterday, and this morning she's starting to cruise around. When i first realized she was walking yesterday, i saw her out of the corner of my eye. It was while slade was napping. I had the rocking chair in the middle of the living room floor because when sissy wakes up from her nap, we rock until shes "ready" to be awake. Well i was sitting on the couch finding something on TV, while i seen movement out of the corner of my eye. she was trying to walk around the rocking chair without her normal "walking along" the chair. She was so sturdy, and so sure of herself. She kept coming, slowly but surely with her arms and hands out as if she were going to grab me when she got here! she finally got to me. I picked her up and we clapped and yayed and i was so proud of her.  I immediately got out the camera, planted myself on the other side of the room to try and capture it for her daddy. "Sissy, come here big girl"....and she came. That poor guy missed slades first steps, and he's missed hers, so the best i can do for him is to tape it one of the first times she has done it. so the 4th official time she walked to me, as i taped her in entirety for her daddy. He gets to see it. Im excited for him. I know he'll love it.

Well last week as you all know, slade went to vacation bible school. He absolutely LOVED IT! he loved his teacher, he loved his new friends, he loved the church and the congregation, he just loved everything about it. I went to his closing program last friday, and the way he lights up when he's in that church is amazing. He's proud and he's sure of himself. It only proves that he is ready for preschool in the fall, and i thought i would never say this, but i am ready for him to go. He's so smart, and so bright. He deserves to explore and enjoy in learning, and i am sure that is just what he is going to do. He is going to soak it all in and be a toddler genius and make his daddy so proud when he gets home! SO PROUD!

Time is moving a long and we are enjoying ourselves out here. i Cant believe its almost august already. Its already been a long time since I have laid actual eyes on my husband. So much has changed with the kids, and with me, but when he sees us again, all of this growing and changing is going to be so worth it. He is going to be in awe at the kids, and that is something that i cannot wait to see.

Slade is getting really impatient. Last night as we laid on the floor watching elf before it was his bedtime he said to me "mommy i dont like it here." I said "what do you mean bud?" he says "i dont like this house." i said "what do you want to do then?" he said " i want to move back to virginia beach". i replied with "i know you do bud, and so does mommy, but we have to be patient and that time will come". he said "i love you mommy" and gave me a kiss. he's so sweet. He only wants to move back because he knows that when we move back, daddy will be close to be coming home. so he's just a bit impatient with the process. He is doing extremely well though, but we all have our moments.

I think that is all for now. I hope you all have a great rest of the week and i will write again soon.

In a blink Of an eye!

Good morning!

Well sissy is growing so fast, and as much as i would like time to slow down so i can watch her learn and develop more closely, I am just cruising along with the ride, because the faster this time goes by, the faster daddy can watch the growth and development in both of our children, right along side me!

Kendal is getting in her 14th and 15th teeth right now. She is a bear when she is breaking teeth through but who could blame her? I can only imagine what that feels like when your gums swell and a foreign object is slicing through. I feel for her, but its not necessarily easy on the rest of us either! She is a teething machine lately, and in the last month she has gotten in a total of 6th teeth. Once we get a break from one set popping through, the next ones start; and yes, that is the process. Sleepless  nights aren't uncommon to this momma- not as of lately.

I have to say that she is quite the trooper through the whole teething ordeal, i admit, she could be worse, but as if her attitude was not bad enough on a daily basis, increase that by popping teeth into the mix. She is even more slap happy, and vocal. Not to mention sleep deprived. But you have to hand it to her, she's an amazing little girl.

She has started climbing on all the furniture, and using her own recliner. She sits so full of pride, like "yeah, i got up here, so what?!" She has started picking her own books at the library and tries to sit still as I read them- This is still a learning process, as she is a woman and she can't sit still too long! She has developed a hate for bows on her head, thus why you all havent seen pictures of her with headbands on lately. She developed a new found love of toilet paper, and sneaks in the bathroom every chance she gets to unravel that lovely white stuff. She is learning so fast, and understanding so much. She understands if i tell her to sit down, or stand. she waves on command (most of the time), she says hi and bye bye. Daddy is one of her favorite words, but she also says papa, nannie, bert, bubby, doll, yeah, bath, milk (obviously she cant speak that clear, but im not taking the type to type "baby talk".) or you can just think she is that brilliant, i can let you think that way ;) Anyways, her vocabulary is growing and so is she. She is totally in 18 month clothes, and most 24 months fit. Currently she is wearing 24 month PJ's and they fit perfectly. She's a big healthy girl! She's a bruiser too, youre not going to want to mess with this girl, she'll thump ya! Daddy said the other day that he doesnt know who is going to get the dirtbike first! I say slade might get the dirtbike first, but who will be the first to try it out? more than likely, SIS.

Slade is getting so independent. he's always been that way, but momma holds the reins tighter than i should. Im trying to loosen up a bit. He's my biggest baby, and its hard to let him go. BUT he's been going to vacation bible school all week and hes been doing amazing. He's making new friends and Ive seen the improvement in the way he acts. He's so proud of himself, and he's so sure of himself, and that is amazing to see. Dropping him off he gets so excited to stay, then when my mom drops him off after picking him up, he has such light in his eyes! he has a great time. He's learned new songs, which is awesome.  I cant wait to see him tonight at the family picnic. I will probably be smiling ear to ear the entire time. yes, i am that mom.

Slade is getting taller. He is a runt for his age, but ive seen him grow so much lately. Its his new eating habits. he's been eating so much veggies and fruits, carbs, stuff his body needs he's been eating. Thanks to that wonderful NOOK jar! He's up to 30 some dollars! he thinks he's rich! Hopefully by the time daddy gets home he will have almost enough and that will be something that they can go do together, purchase slades nook! It will probably take him longer than a couple of months to save that much, but we will see!

We have gone to the library 3 times this week already. Its been nice to go. kids love to get home and read all the books. learn new things. I love to read to them! And to see their smiles when they like a book, or see the smiles when they pick out their books, its really nice to see. I like the little, finer things in life. The unexpected smiles of learning is what makes me happiest. I have smart little farts. I think they get that from their daddy, but dont tell him i told you that.

Well i believe thats enough bragging for now. I will write again soon. Enjoy your weekend everyone. I know that i will!

Wearing Thin

Hey everyone.

The passed two days, have been trying, a test of how strong I really am. I think  that i have been dealing with this deployment rather well. I have no choice in the matter so i just push forward, knowing that we are one day closer. However, i have heard from brian in an email, every day since he left 74 days ago. I haven't heard from him in 2 days and its been the hardest 2 days of deployment. We dont know how lucky we are with having communication until we no longer have it. We take the little things for granted. I can promise you, i will value and cherish every single word on every email I recieve from here on out.

Emails are my hugs. My kisses, My good nights. They are what let me know he is safe, and thinking about me and the kids as much as we are thinking about them. They relay are days. They put smiles on our faces, without them, you find yourself a little more emotional and a little more stressed. You find yourself checking your email more than double the normal. I know that i am fortunate that i hear from my husband daily, but it still doesnt matter, without any communication that void is there. that absence is truely felt. you have no link between the two of us. Its gut wrenching.

I have yet to feel that pain. that ache that goes deep into your heart. of missing your husband. of course i miss him but i know its only temporary. I have yet to feel "alone". but it hit me, last night, and even more so today. It hurts. I miss my best friend. I miss my husband. I know that this whining wont bring him home, and i realize this, but we wives that are going through this right now, or have gone through it in the past or will go through it in the future know what this feeling is really about.

So hug your husbands tight. Tell them how much you love them, take in every kiss you get, because there are some of us out there that dont get that, and miss that, and look forward to having that back again someday soon.

The BIG adventure!

Hello Readers!

Well over the passed week we have had quite a bit happen. Little Kendal Turned 1!!!! We celebrated, and We partied! We got to talk to daddy in the beginning of the week, and Big Brother started a new journey! So lets Jump RIGHT in!

Well little Kendal turning 1 was a bitter sweet day! Out of both of our kids, Brian has missed both first birthdays. You know you have that nostalgic memory session- like what you were doing at "this time" last year, and with both babies, i havent been able to share that nostalgic memory session. This time it got me really emotional. because Keni is our last one, and he never got to share that with us. I never got to discuss my nerves with him and my excitement, we only got to read emails back and forth showing our emotions and excitement. Yes I am thankful that i even got emails, but its not the same, yet its the sacrifice we chose. She didnt have a very special "day", but she did have a very special Party! It was decked out in Pink, black and white. She had treats galore! I tried to make it a very special day for a very special girl. She's an amazing little being and i was proud to put on such a party for her. She made out really well, she got lot of goodies and celebrated with VERY special people on HER day. Daddy was here with us in spirit, definetly!

I Baked for what it felt like years, but in actuality it was only a day. I made chocolate covered marshmellows in three different colors, also did rice crispy treats as well, and those went like hot cakes! I made a princess/zebra themed big cake, and a plain "kendal" cake for her smash cake, which went not the way i thought it would. She was very UN-impressed with the smashing idea, but she was also EXTREMELY tired. Right after the smashing she took a dip in the pool, got a diaper change, and the party girl was off to nap!  but the party continued and it was a great time!

This week slade started Vacation bible school! His teacher is my "aunt" julie. And i am ever so thankful of that. He was looking forward to going and learning, and i told him all of the perks of being at bible school. "you'll get to do crafts, play outside, have snack time with cookies, and sing LOTS of songs!" i prepped him for me not staying and he was cool with that.......UNTIL it was actually time for me to leave him there. But aunt julie came, sat with slade and started warming up to him. when it was time to go to "class" he just took off with her, and never looked back! Thats momma's big boy!!! When it was time to pick him up, he wasnt ready to leave! he is definetly looking forward to going back. Im so proud of him.

While in "craft time" they had to say to their class what they were blessed with (or something of that sort). Slade says this "for my mommy and my daddy, but my daddy is gone away on deployment right now". That tugged my heart strings. At 4 years old, he knows what is going on, yet he is proud that is daddy is away doing "special" work. he's a bight little boy, and he makes me so proud! Ive never seen such an accomplished smile on his face. It was great! "momma, i did it!".

Well i got all the paper work to fill out to move back in housing, which means that time is moving forward! and it will be the end of deployment soon enough. We have about a month left to reach "halfway", but never the less, it is moving forward and i am enjoying every step of it. I really truely Am. I enjoy the journey of growing together even though we are so far apart. Ive never felt closer to him, and that is an amazing feeling. We share everything in words, down to details of our days. His communication has improved vastly and i am ever so grateful. This may be a "tough" journey, but the destination is going to be great. We are headed in a wonderful direction, and I am ever so proud. My husband is one amazing man, and a terrific father. I couldnt have picked a better man, and yes, I picked HIM- he had no choice in the matter.....LOL!

We've had a busy month. We've had birthday parties, and fairs, we've celebrated with enough cake/cup cakes to last us a lifetime! as the month is coming to a close, i am looking forward to the not so hectic August. Im looking forward to the cooler weather, and fall approaching. Yes thats far ahead, but that is the only way to stay sane. Keeping my eyes forward and moving at lightening speed is the only way to do it.

Kids are growing at warp speed it feels like. but brian doesnt miss a second of it. I send him hundreds of pictures in his weekley packages, along with a bazillion videos, of growth and achievments. he doesnt miss a beat!

Alright, well that is all for now. I know it is a very quick review, but thats that in a nutshell! have a wonderful week everyone!

Time marches on!

Hi everyone! Its been a while since i have blogged, and there has been quite a bit of things happening here with the Houts family! So lets get Started!

First of all, Today we cross off on the calender the Last day of the 2nd month that Brian has been gone! Yes, Thats right, its been about 9 weeks, making it 2 full months! Time is "cruising" by, some days are better than others, but we are making the best out of our days, which is making time pass at a great speed! Some days are as slow as molasses, and some days are still hard to cope, but they are few and far between. I have a tremendous amount of support and spectators in our life, which is a great help. Some days while i am doing dishes, or cleaning the house, i realize that my once upon a time "thought" of what it would be like when brian deploys, is an actual reality. I smile, because I AM DOING THIS. This is my life, 24/7 and i am stronger than i ever anticipated, but it is harder than i anticipated also. The "thought" of being without you lover, bestfriend, and husband is a hard thought, but the actuality, and reality of them not in arms length away, or even a phone call away at that matter is a tough pill to swallow at times. But we are making it work, and it is working well. Through emails and sparse phone calls we are able to support eachother. Tell eachother how much we appreciate what the other is doing, and how proud we are of what the other is doing. The love is still there, even thicker and stronger than before. He is an amazing man, doing wonderful things for our family and our country. (mainly our family ;) ). I couldn't be prouder of him, we feel his love from miles away and that is very important!

The kids are holding up well, really well. We are 3 strong individuals. Slade is grasping time now, and realizing that the words "gone a long time", actually means, a REALLY long time! But he is doing great. He struggles at times, and says he misses his daddy more and more every day, but he never skips a beat by saying he knows that daddy misses him too and that he will be home as soon as he can. He takes comfort in knowing that daddy sleeps with his picture, just as slade sleeps with daddy's picture. He has his nightly routine at reading the letter daddy wrote especially for him, and we kiss his picture, say our nightly prayer to keep daddy safe while he is away, and he snuggles jo as tight as he can. Its very sweet. keeps daddy alive in the house and thats whats important. Sis has a book of daddy. she has it every day and kisses it, carries it around, and knows that, that is her daddy. Another very important tool.

Slade likes to look for houses on craigslist for possible "new" houses when we move back to Virginia beach. I like to keep him in the mix and for him to help me. he likes to be part of the process, and it helps him cope, and understand that daddy IS coming home, and we WILL be together in Virginia beach again! :)

Alright enough of that kind of talk!

So on the Kendal front. She is growing like a weed! She is 100% off of bottles and has been for about 2 weeks! Straight milk, no formula, and thats been for about a month! And of course she is woombie and mask free. she is saying more and more words, and standing freely. she isnt taking steps yet, nor growing hair, but i hope those are 2 things she starts doing soon! She is getting tooth 13 in! the passed 2 weeks she has popped 4 teeth through, and these last 2 are the hardest teeth yet. Poor little girl, but she is handling it like a champ! She's one strong willed woman, thats a good quality! She is doing really good with letting other people hold her, which is a good thing because she is HEFTY DUTY HEAVY!!! or as my mom would say....A beefstick! She is in 18-24 month clothes and growing rapidly. She is in a size 5 shoe! Can you believe it?!

She says a lot of words, and tells you like it is, whether you can understand her or not! she's a dancer! she's just pretty cool, thats all that i can say about her!

Slade is growing FAST now! He had a growth spurt and  I am happy to report that he is getting TALLER! he is finally growing out of most 3T clothes. Standing next to other kids he doesnt seem like such a shrimp. He's still small, but he's catching up! Its from all those vegetables he's eating!

Slade is saving money for a NOOK! when he eats all of his meals he gets money to put in his nook jar. It started out as incentive for eating other things rather than hot dogs, chicken nuggets and fries. He has expanded his horizons and he is eating a VAST variety of foods! To name some of the things he eats now that he never would touch before is: Corn, MUSHROOMS, blueberries, breads, peanut butter and jelly, wraps......That my friends is TREMENDOUS growth! He actually eats pretty much anything unless it is covered in bbq sauce, grilled chicken or green. but we are working on that as well! :) He's getting big folks!

I am doing really well. Im continuing to lose weight. I need to start putting an exercise plan into play because i need to "put things back where they came from" if you catch my drift. After ballooning for having 2 kids and always struggling with weight gain, skin just isnt where it should be in some places. Just hoping that i find an exercise plan that helps me tighten up! Emotionally i am holding up, really well i would say. physically as well. Single parenting is no joke so for all you single parents that do this year after year, you are amazing individuals! its hard work! but REWARDING. SO REWARDING!! i cant tell you how happy and proud i get for the things i see the kids learn and put into action because I tought them it, or I showed them the way. Its very rewarding. And it gives me something to focus on and be proud of. This is my job. and its a full time job, and i am proud of what i am doing, just as i am proud of what brian is doing. When he gets home he is going to see how hard we worked, and we will see how hard he worked and it will all be worth it.

Well that is all for now. Sorry if its a little hodge podged and here and there, but im trying to play trucks, listen to slade and type this all in the same time frame!

I hope you all have a great coming week!

Many Thoughts

so this week is a big week. It marks a month of me being in Michigan. It marks a month of brian being gone. So this means, its been a month since I have seen my dear friends Lindsy & Erin, and my beloved Virginia Beach. Gosh do I miss those girls. Erin was my down the street neighbor in housing. She and I get Along amazingly well and it feels like we have known eachother for a really long time, when really its only been 7 months. She and I would exchange eggs, food coloring, fans, and cork screws, whatever else we needed, we lent eachother. Most of all she was a very good "listening ear". She doesnt judge, she just listens. Lindsy is my fellow deployment wife. Our husbands work together and we get along great. We mesh well and have a lot of the same qualities. Our sons are close buddies!! We are going through this deployment together. We're bonded. And i think VERY highly of her. I miss Virginia beach too. I love it there. Even though I am enjoying Having my parents being an ear shot away.... I still miss virginia beach, Big time! Sladen told me a few days ago that its taking to long to move back to virginia beach. He loves being around my parents, and loves seeing them everyday, but what i think he wants to be in virginia beach most for, is that he knows when we move back, daddy will be there shortly after.

The paper ring chain that we are making brian is getting longer. means more days are passing by. Sladen really enjoys the part of the day that we get to write what we did that day on that little piece of paper that we fold into a ring and add to the chain. He gets REALLY excited to do it. He tells daddy his most important parts of the day. and always says he misses him and loves him. Not a nap or bed time goes passed that slade doesnt fall asleep with brians pictures, or jo by his side for comfort. its amazing that thousands of miles away, brian still brings comfort to his little boy.

im learning more about myself as the time eases by. Im learning that im not such a wimp when it comes to being home alone at night time. Im learning that I am stronger than I ever thought I was. Im learning true passion and pride for my husband and the military. Im learning patience. Im growing as a person, a mother, a wife, and a friend/daughter. Im learning more about who true people are in my life, and im trying to take as much in of this journey as I can.

Sis is growing rapidly. She is off of formula completely, and she is weened out of her woombie. She is nearly 11 months old now and learning how to stand freely and walk holding my hand. She is learning her vocals and talking all the time. She cleans up toys and does tasks when she is prompted too. Slade was NEVER that way. Its amazing how different but very similar those two are. Sladen is turning into a big boy. he is amazingly independent and understands more than i ever thought he would at this age. He is so smart, and caring. He has the manors that i couldnt be prouder for. He's a little man in the making. A little GENTLE man!

Brian is doing good. his spirits have raised a great amount in the last couple weeks. He made it up a rank and i couldnt be prouder of him. and I know he is proud of himself, as he should be.

Well, that is it for now.

Have a wonderful weekend!
