Challenge Day 6

Good Morning everyone! It supposed to be nice and warm outside today, and that is something that i am looking forward too! Its been cold so the kids have been cooped up...we need to expel some of the energy....... Well today is day 6, and i hope you all are enjoying it so far! Here we go!

Day 6: something you would like to change about yourself.

While I was in high school, I spoke my mind quite freely. I said what I wanted, when I wanted, whether or not you wanted to hear it, or if it hurt your feelings; big freaking deal, you'll get over it. That is how I looked at it. I was called a "Bitch" quite often, but it never phased me. Thats how i wanted to be! Never did I get walked on, and I always knew where  I stood with each and every friend. I wasn't stressed out for having stuff on my chest. I didn't let little things bother me, because there was nothing left to fester..... it was all out there!

When I graduated, and moved on to working at Ruby Tuesday, I started out so meek and mild. With all these new people it was hard to just "pop off at the mouth" about stuff that i didn't like or accept. I didn't know anyone well enough to speak my mind freely. once i did know people well enough, and speak my honesty i would offend some of my best friends there- Just by being honest. I learned to seal those lips up tight. I would still speak my mind, just not everything. That's when i felt people start walking all over me. I couldn't say no. So i would get taken advantage of. Once I got so comfortable with that meek and mild manor, i looked back on my high school days and thought that I was obnoxious and unnecessary.

My attitude didn't only go away at work, it went away period. I couldn't tell anyone off without worry about offending the. I couldn't say to someone anymore "you're outfit doesn't match",  and i was afraid to tell friends my real feelings. So thats where it started to being a door mat.

I have been crossed by some of my best of friends. because i can only be pushed so far with being taken advantage of, and walked all over, and told what to do. It just builds up, builds up and then finally i get so pissed off with everything I explode. I never had that in high school, there was nothing to build up. Everything was already out on the table. SO with keeping it all in, i guess essentially it worked with weeding the real friends in me life, but to get rid of the others, by exploding on them, didn't and doesnt seem right. Even if what they did to me, or things they said to me was wrong, I was the one who took it to the "bitch" level once i had enough.

So i guess if i could change one thing about me, I would change the fact that i am so laid back. Do i want to be that bitch from high school? no not necessarily, but a happy medium has been what i am striving for. I am trying to get to a place where i feel comfortable with saying things and not keeping it all in. I am always honest, and I always tell you the truth. But sometimes i dont say how you may of made me feel, and i let things build up thinking that non confrontation is the best thing. In all actuality, there is a way of going about getting everything off your chest without being mean, its just being brutally honest. So I am getting to a place where i feel comfortable, and that i am not getting walked on or taken advantage of.

SO if i could change one thing about myself, i would change the fact that I am no longer a door mat. Its a slow process, but its working.

day 5 of the challenge

Good morning! Well im not going to lie, im kind of struggling as to what to write about in todays question. Its not something i want to answer lightly, as i want to give my whole opinion, so i skipped from the actual 5th day, and picked a different question from down the list. I will come back to the day 5 question, but for now, Moving on!

Day 5:  powerful song lyrics you love.

Powerful song lyrics that I love, and i cant go a week without listening too, is More time by Needtobreathe! Its an amazing song, that hit home while i was going through something Big. My grandma naomi as you all know (or most of you) passed away from cancer. But as she was getting really sick, is when we made our first move in the military, and that put us in Washington DC, a 13 hour drive from friends and family. If it wasn't hard enough to be away from family for the first time in my life, with a toddler, and knowing no one! adding the over whelming hustle and bustle of a big city, new surroundings, and worrying about family was quite hard.

I was addicted to watching Ellen.... I love her outlook on everything and she always made me smile,so watching her was one of the highlights of my days while being stuck in a 800 sq ft apartment, in the ghetto-ish of dc, with no children playgrounds or areas to go outside to play. Anyways, one day as everything was coming to a head, and i was hearing bad news about my grandma and my uncle Al..... Ellen had Needtobreathe on her show for a musical performance. they Played "more time" and i sobbed like a baby.

The lyrics can probably be interpreted in different ways, but i can only see it in one way. That if i only had a couple more months, with gram, everything would be alright. I needed more time to take it all in, instead of getting a phone call to tell her my last goodbye, then drive through the night and never see her awake again. "this is not what i had plan" is part of the lyrics that makes me tear up. she didnt plan to get sicker, she planned to get better, so when she realized that she was actually "in danger" it was too late. She was always an optimist, she was always going to get better in her eyes. So when you hear her say those things, i think its harder to accept the fact that they actually ARE sick.

It is a beautiful song and one that i always think of her while listening. I think of her often,so this song will never get old to me I dont think.

I posted the lyrics, and I will post a video to facebook of the song so you can listen to it there. because just reading lyrics you cannot get the meaning behind it 100%

I promised you the world againEverything within my handsAll the riches one could dreamThey will come from me
I hoped that you could understandThat this is not what I had plannedPlease don’t worry nowIt will turn around
Cause I need more timeJust a few more months and we’ll be fineSo say what’s on your mindCause I can’t figure out just what’s inside
I hoped that you could understandThat this is not what I had plannedPlease don’t worry nowIt will turn around
Cause I need more timeJust a few more months and we’ll be fineSo say what’s on your mindCause I can’t figure out just what’s insideSo say alrightCause I know we can make it if we try[ From: http://www.metrolyrics.com/more-time-lyrics-needtobreathe.html ]Cause I need more timeJust a few more months and we’ll be fine
We’re off to new landsSo hold on to my handsIt’s gonna be alrightIt’s a whole lot brighterSo stand by the fireIt’s gonna be alrightYeah, the road gets harderBut it’s not much fartherIt’s gonna be alrightYou know that it ain’t easyPlease believe meIt’s gonna be alright
Please don’t worry nowIt will turn around
Cause I need more timeJust a few more months and we’ll be fineSo say what’s on your mindCause I can’t figure out just what’s insideSo say alrightCause I know we can make it if we tryCause I need more timeJust a few more months and we’ll be fine

    Day 4 of the challenge

    Good morning Readers!

Day 4: how you think your life would change if you achieved your dream.

My life would change by achieving my dream tremendously. But in all honestly, Aside from my life long dream of being a dental hygienist, my other life long dream was being a wife and mother. As some of my old high school friends and family can vouch for me, those are the 2 things i talked about most. My best friend through out high school always told me I was nuts for having "being a mom and wife" as my dream, and wanting it at such a young age. But its true.

Once I graduated i went to school to take all my pre-req's for dental hygiene. I was a full time student at the local community college, and had my eyes on my dream. Until i couldn't pass my biology class....3 times in a row. You had to receive a B or better and I always got a C. so discouraged, i thought dropping out was a great decision. In hind sight, i cannot believe i gave up over something so easy, but at the time felt so hard. People fight for their dreams every day, and i just let mine go. I know i disappointed alot of people. and i disappointed myself.

After dropping out of school, i moved on with my second dream. Brian and I "bought a house", he proposed, then we got pregnant with sladen. My second dream was in progress. But my first dream, is something i ALWAYS think about, and always wish i would have been more dedicated. But there is a BUT.

If i would have finished, I wouldn't be where I am today. I wouldn't have Slade and Keni. I wouldn't be living the military life style. I wouldn't be alot of things that i am, and that I love about me. But also, if I did finish school and chase that dream, my life would be affected tremendously, because i wouldn't be home with my kids. I wouldn't be the one spending their days with them. Yes we would be alot more financially stable, and my kids would be SET with things that they WANT..... but being a stay at home mom is the best blessing i have ever been given. I get to see my son and daughter on a daily basis. I watch their every move, and see them become brighter. I get to have dinner on the table and the house clean for the hubby to be proud. Does it get to me sometimes that i feel like i am unsuccessful? Yes it does, but i just remind myself that i only get these few years to sit at home with the kids, and once they go to school, it will be MY time. MY time to get a career, and MY time to have my family behind ME, pushing me in my dreams.

I still dream to be a dental hygienist. but is that what i  will achieve? Im not sure. But i will tell you this. I WILL ACHIEVE a career. I WILL make those who love me proud. But for now, I am doing what matters most to me, and that is making my kids happy.

    Day 3 of the Challenge

    Hello readers!

Day 3: what you think your reason for being here is.

Not very many questions are hard for me to answer. I have an opinion about everything.... Sometimes i over analyze and critique everything to the point of no return. But this seems to be a tough question to answer. I can't answer this in a precise manor, but i try my best. Im not trying to be full of myself so please don't think that way. Im just trying to answer it the best i can.

I think my reason for being here on earth, before my life even started to where i can remember, is to give my parents a love that they would have never known (ie children). To be a sister to someone, and to finish my parents family. My reason for being here is to live up to gods expectations and follow the path he is leading me down. My reason for being here on earth is to become someone's better half. To teach him how to love and show compassion.  To make a family with that better half and put 2 wonderful, bright children on this earth. My reason for being here is to learn life lessons and to teach those life lessons the best way i can to my children. My reason for being here on earth is to live each day to the fullest and do what makes me happy and my little family happy. I don't believe i am here to be the next big thing, the next big singer, nor am I here to be lawyer. but I AM here to be the best mother, wife, sibling, child, auntie, family and friend that i can be. I work hard to be THAT person that people need. I try to always smile so that way I can bring a smile to someone elses face. I believe I am here to show people what a real friend is. I am here to inspire people if need be. I work hard at being the person you can come to.I am here on earth to be the ear that my husband needs, the strength behind him on pushing for his dreams. I am here on earth the give my children the courage to be strong individuals and show them the way. I am here on earth to keep my family happy on every level. One day i will be successful in the way god wants me to be. But for now, the reason i am here on earth, is to enjoy the fruits of my labor, and spend every moment with my beautiful children. I am here to smile, laugh and cry with my children and husband. I am on this earth to appreciate what my life is, not wish that it were something different and not be ungrateful for what i have been given. I am fortunate and I have a wonderful life. Im not rich with money, but i am rich with love and that IS what matters. I would rather be rubbing 2 pennies together with my little family in a box, than living in a mansion with a loveless cold marriage. I am thankful for every day that i breath this wonderful air. I am thankful to wake every morning hearing my children giggle and mumble "mommy, its time to go down stairs".  I believe that these are my reasons for being here on earth, to be the best person that i can be, with faults of course. Living day to day the way that the lord sees fit. This is me. This is why i am here.

    Day 2 of the challenge

I realized this may be hard to do EVERY day, But i will do my best to keep up. I will stay in track of the  days, but i might miss a day here and there, but make up for it the next day. I will try hard to write every day as the challenge requires, but i found doing it during the weekend (like yesterday) was difficult, because by the end of the day, im tired and want to relax with the hubby. BUT during the week it will be much easier. Now that i am done making up excuses, down to the nitty gritty..... Day 2.

Day 2: something that’s illegal but you think it should be legal.

Something that I believe should be Legal, that is currently Illegal is Marijuana. I have never smoked even a "puff" a day in my life but making it legal for everyone would be easier because of these reasons:  If the government sold it, they could make the profit and relieve taxes. It could be stated in the same rules and regards as Drinking. You can legally buy it, transport it home, but if caught driving under the "influence", you would be treated the same way as if you had alcohol in your system. Also if you had stores selling marijuana just as liquor or tobacco, it would lower the risk of drug dealer crimes. If you need some, you can buy some. You wont have to track down a dealer or create problems for innocent bystanders. In all fairness, Marijuana is harmless in my eyes, IF treated in the same way as you would consume alcohol. Stay in a "safe" environment, and not driving around. I know more than a handfull of friends who use marijuana in the same way that i make a margarita or sip on a beer. To calm your nerves and "kick" back a little. There are far worse crimes that arent fussed about as much as marijuana, and it is half the worry in my eyes. If it were legal i think it would be a benefit for people.

That is what I believe. Just my opinion.

I looked up a list of crimes that were illegal, and i COULDNT chose one that i would want to be legal in any way shape or form. Obviously laws are laws for a reason, but if i had to choose, this would be the one.

    Have a good day.

    365 Day Challenge

Hi There! I have stumbled upon this challenge, its an extreme challenge but something i am interested in. So i have to blog every day for a year. Each day i have a different task to talk about and focus on. I know that alot of you are interested in the kids and reading about them, but i will definetly still talk about them, they are my main focus, but i am going to sneak in this challenge as well. It will help me in my writting ability, and i LOVE to write. So i am excited, and I hope that you are interested! So here we go, starting DAY 1!!!

Day 1: hopes, dreams, and plans for the next 365 days with a picture of yourself-

My Hopes for this next year is a good question. I hope that i can hang on to my sanity when my son goes off to kindergarten in a couple of months. I hope that i can hold myself together the first few times that i drop him off or send him away on the bus.  I hope that he remains as strong and independent as he currently is, and i hope that he doesn't become a follower, i hope he a leader. I hope that he excels as well as i know he can, and hope that i can keep Kendal and I well occupied at home. I hope that brian continues to do well at work. I hope that we can come to a decision on our future in the military life or turn into civilians. I hope that my newest nephew enters this world in a safe, peaceful way, and i hope that the big sister and big brother adjust well and help mommy out. I hope that my sisters delivery is safe. I hope that my brother in law remains as strong and supportive as i know he is.  I hope that my mothers back turns into nothing serious. I hope that my dad's job holds out and he can stay afloat and not worry about bills. I hope that my grandpa stays well and gets no bad news. I hope that my two best friends out here can become pregnant because that is something they really want, and something i want badly for them. I hope that i can get my thyroid and hysterectomy all sorted out. i hope that i have the stregnth to go through that without family. I hope that my friend Erin transitions well on their move to japan. And i hope that i stay sane when she leaves and not miss her too much. I hope that all of the family getting married, and having babies goes according to plan and safely. I hope that people soon understand that we need to put gas in our cars so complaining about gas prices doesn't help a bit just suck it up and pump it in. I hope that lincoln military housing gets what they have coming to them with law suits. I hope that I can make it home for important events coming up. I hope alot of things.... hope is something i often feel. I hope everything works out according to plan, but i have faith that the lord above knows what he is doing with me and my family and i can do nothing more than to pray and keep hope, because i know he's got it all under control.

My dreams for the next 365 days..... My dreams are to become a student in school. my dream is to become a successful mother as well as a successful career woman. My hopes are my dreams. I dream to have it all. I dream to become as fortunate and blessed as I am supposed to be. I dream that I can mold my children into  the best little pre-k and kindergartener as possible.I hope and dream that brian makes second class because thats what he dreams of and I am right behind him. I dream a little dream.

That is my hopes and dreams for the coming year..... I have more hopes and dreams, i could go on for days. But im counting my blessing because i know how fortunate I really am.

I was supposed to add a picture of me, so here it is.... one of the happiest days of my life. Getting my husband back!

Its been a while, Got lots to say!

Hi everyone! Its been a while since I last had Blogged. Just can't seem to find the time to do so. With Bri working nights, leaving him home during the day seems to throw a jab at my blogging ability. But thats okay, I would rather him home taking up our time, so I wont complain!

Things are going really well here with us. We just got home from Michigan. I just want to say that I am sorry to MOST of you that i couldnt see. It was a very short visit (only 5 whole days) . We came with a purpose, and that was about the only 2 things we did; those and seeing grandparents and siblings. We will be coming home again in July, dates aren't for sure yet, but plan on sometime in July. It will be a longer stay and  more of the people seeing visit!

We have a lot on our plates right now, and a hard decision to make. Since we have talked to family about our decisions and things we are mulling over,  it is time to tell you all. Brian is up for re-enlistment, extension or Getting out. Our choice was to get out after 4 years right from the get go; But since economy hasn't looked up, jobs aren't that easy to come by,  i didnt finish school,  so we dont really have much of a choice since waitressing doesn't really give benefits or will it pay for a roof over our head. Its a difficult decision because we are making it not only for us, but our kids and our close family. Living far away isn't easy. And since we are close with our family, it makes the decision even harder. We thought it would be easier to rip the bandaid off, but with having such good medical benefits and a steady job/paycheck makes it hard to just leave it, to the question of "now what?" If we make the extension decision that will make Brian go out on another deployment. Something we won't be looking forward too, but its the name of the game if that is what we choose to do. Nothing has been finalized, and we will be telling our family our decision first, then you all after. But this is what is on our plate right now. Its hard and stressful. Not an easy thing to do, keep your kids from their grandparents....... But its life, and it throws curve balls.

The kids are doing great. Slade and Keni got measured the other day, and slade grew about an inch since september, and sis grew almost 5 inches. She is an animal. She is a woman on a mission. She is loud and obnoxious, rough and tumble, and both of them are easy going! They couldnt be more opposit if they tried. Slade's so meek, quiet, cautious, gentle and sincere where as Keni is out going, loud, without a care, rough and mean spirited (okay not all the time, but she sure loves to see the rise out of slade when she pisses him off). They are amazing children and they keep us on our toes. Slades a big helper and he is really developing. He takes trash out, he gets snacks all by himself. he can pretty much do anything on his own. Keni thinks she is just as big as brother, and copies what he does..... which in turn gets slade in trouble when she does something she shouldn't that she learned from brother. I think that's how it goes though doesnt it?

Keni is really talking now. Seems like everyday she gets better and better. She says "what!!" for pretty much anything. and No is her favorite word. She is quite hilarious... she shakes her head YES but says NO. she puts herself in time out when she knows she done something bad. These are some of her newer words/ phrases.... "oh cool", "Hey you", "sorry!!", "drink please", "cookie", " pretty cool shoe", "pretty girl", "bike", "sit down", "poopy diaper" ..... oh geeze SO much more! I think she is learning so fast because she has her brother to teach her! Either way, they work well together (for the most part) and slade is SO patient with showing her the ropes. My kids are amazing beings, and i am so proud.... (as every mother is... haha).

Everytime we make the trip home to michigan, it amazes me at how well my kids ride! they are AMAZING riders. quiet, and looking at the sights. just asking for snacks and pee pees. Great kids.

So recently we had mold work done on the house. Seems to be doing find. we had a huge spot that they needed to remove and treat in our utility closet. If we decide to stay in, we are looking for a new house.... one without mold preferrably ;)

As far as brian and I go, we are doing well. Bri's focused on work and what comes next. Im focused on home and the kids. Ive gained weight back and need to get back on the work out routine. i feel lousy because my thyroid isnt right yet,so i have lackof energy and umph. Needing the workout regimine again. Hoping to enter a 5k in the next couple of weeks, i think that will help me give me the confidence i need again.

I think that is all for now!!!

    talk to you all soon.
