last night Brian and I had our Second Date Night! I have to say, it did not go as smooth as the First, but It was a very nice evening. Didnt go AT ALL according to plan, but it was still fun and We enjoyed our time together! We had plans for Hill-ary (2 syllables is how slade says her name) to be here at 6pm. We would leave promptly upon her arrival to make it to our movie at 6:30, 20 miles away. So we were going to be cutting it close as it was. But The night was already not going to plan. Brian got off of work and home by 5, but Wolfie had to go for his evening walk, so brian too the kids so I could get ready. That was a chore in itself, since wolfie doesnt walk very well yet (still pulls and such). but it was nice to have a half hour by myself. We rushed to get slades dinner cooked and sis ready for bed. Hillary was 10 minutes late so I started feeding sis her night time bottle. So when hillary did get here I was already plopped on the couch feeding Keni. So i wasnt just going to yank the bottle out of her mouth pass her off and rush out the door. So after we finished keni up, and kissed slade goodbye, it was 6:30. Shucks! Got in the truck and said "hmm well now what?!"......I wasnt in a wonderful mood at that point and i was running a fever...dont know why?! i feel fine today. but anyways....brian put the truck in drive and we just went.....on our way to "somewhere". We went to the cinema just down the road, went in to see what time a movie we wanted to see was playing. Ah ha! the dilemma at 7:20... it was 6:45. Thats plenty of time to eat at Kelly's Tavern, located conveniently right next to the theatre. We went in, sat down and ordered quickly. However our food was mighty delicious, we only had a couple bites because our food didnt come out until 7:05. We boxed up our food, slurped our drinks and scarfed a couple bites then headed out the door. (after we paid of course). Then walked back to the theatre to get into the lobby at 7:20. We still had to get snacks and a drink of course!! Sweet-tarts and Chocolate covered raisons. I shyed away from our normal Popcorn and drink. Needed sweets! Brian just smiled and let me do my thing. We got our seats as the theatre was already quite crowded. sigh of relief..... previews were still showing. We made it. Finally, one thing went according to plan! The movie was really cute, i quite enjoyed it. However, i dont see a movie being in our date night future. We both agreed its nicer to spend time actually talking and enjoying each-others company, and not in a dark, loud theatre where we cant say anything but ocassionaly glancing at each-other with a smirk and a giggle.
Hillary took good care of the kids and wolfie, as we suspected! She reported good reports, and was comfortable slouched on the couch with a movie when we arrived home. She's a cute little thing. And little she is. One of those girls you would like to hand a box of twinkies to. "here go eat these and then come back". haha. She is also shorter than me. rare that is! but i like it! ;) hehe. Alas, shes wonderful, even if she was late. Sometimes i can see being a little late. afterall it was a friday in "rush hours" on the express way and such. Understandable.
Date night was a success. Next week is not a date night, but we will look forward to the next date night! Its already rekindling the "flame". Its nice to have time with eachother. especially since his deployment is drawing near! eeks.
