She seems like SUCH a perfect fit. She is sort of reserved, but assertive. She has a very warm smile, and a gentle voice. She is very petite. Slade took to her right away. Normally he is super shy with new people, but not with her. He grabbed her hand, headed upstairs and said "come with me. lets go play".... She followed then turned back around, stopped in her steps on the stairs and said "Mommy can we go play?". It was the cutest thing, and of course they went to play. Brian was still at work, but he wanted me to wait for the "interview" portion when he got home. She continued to play with him. I was listening from another room. I wanted to give space, but i also wanted to see how things were going. She made him clean up between toys. He couldnt play with them all at the same time, which i was impressed by that. he had to clean up between play toys. High five for that! She was asking him questions and vice versa. When it was time to come down to brian, she asked slade to help her clean the room. He did....Double High five. We then had to wake sis Up from her nap so she could meet Hillary. She wasnt a fan, but she isnt really a fan of anyone but us, family, and Ali. She will warm up to Hillary eventually. But that is another reason we need to have a babysitter in our life. So that way she knows its healthy for us to leave, but we come back to her. Anyways, Hillary nailed to interview and there was no question that she was perfect for us.
Im a little nervous about how Sis is going to react to Hillary giving the bath and night time bottle, and putting to bed. That is why we are just going to dinner and that's all. Sis has been teething so she isnt really herself. Shes a bit more clingy than normal and requires a little more attention....Especially at night time. But we shall see. Hillary is more than qualified to do this job.....its just whether or not sis is going to be easy enough on her. Slade is really helpful so she SHOULDNT have too much trouble. Hopefully we dont scare her off...... :SIf you are wondering where we found her.....We found .....let me rephrase that.....She found US on SitterCity.com..... For military families it is free. but you can do back ground checks and all of those things. You post a job...Like for instance, ours was "Friday nights date night sitter"....then i went on to describe our family and what they needed to have in order to apply. we got almost 50 applications. she was amidst the 50. i did a couple "interviews" online, those girls didnt work out so well, and we set up a interview with a girl named brooke, who never showed and had a phoney excuse. Hillary then was interviewed online, then came to the house for another one, and now she is hopefully going to be our once a week sitter! So thank you to Sitter City!
Im really excited. and cant wait to let the kids have a little independance and brian and I have a little bit of alone time and a breather for a couple hours a week. Looking forward to it!
