Alot had happened in 2010, Alot of memorable things. Such as Moving to a new home, Moving to a new State, Getting pregnant, Becoming a mother of 2 children, becoming a god mother, Turning 25....Those are just some of the Things! 2010 was really good to our family, and I am hoping that 2011 has just as much or more to offer us.
Over the holidays we have been relaxed, busy and having so much fun! Not being with family for Christmas is always a bit difficult. But this year it was a bit easier and less lonely. This christmas our friend Ali came to stay with us for 5 days. Her husband Corey is stationed in Norfolk, about a 1/2 hour away. We had picked Corey up from his ship and he was going to spend the weekend with us so he wasnt alone on christmas. Ali moved back home for school so they dont see eacother that often. So i planted this Idea of her coming for the holidays and suprising Corey. Well It worked! It was awesome to be a part of that. The look on both of their faces when Brian brought her in from the Airport. Corey was sooo shocked! we had picked Corey up earlier that evening, and brian had told him he had to go to work for duty later that night (ali's fight didnt come in until 10:45) so brian left and corey and I were chit chatting and such. I had been getting texts from them saying they were on their way and such. But when she walked in that door, he was pretty much frozen. She was giggling and he was just in shock. "what!!?? What??!!!" thats all Corey kept saying, even when she was sitting next to him on the couch! it was pretty neat to have been part in that planning. Plus we werent Alone on Christmas! Christmas eve was spent with a wonderful dinner and chit chat at the wadleighs house. very warm and welcoming!
Mom and Dad Skyped in christmas morning so they could watch Sladen open their gifts. That was something we have never done before and it was pretty cool. Slade enjoyed it, as did we. Christmas morning and Santa was good to Sladen! The look on his face and the excitement is something i will never forget! Sladen got a Skoot board, an electronic Drum set, Woody, Bullseye, Slinky the dog, 2 cook books, a set of cooking utinsils, a kids like Ipod thing, a camera/recorder for his leapster, tag reader, books, a parking garage, cars galore, kerplunk, i dont even know, but he definetly was Thrilled with Santa ;) plus all the goodies he got from all the grandparents. I havent seen him play with an old toy yet! Time to clean out the old toys! Sis made out well too! she had smiles while watching gifts be opened, and she helped open her toys. She had a great christmas as Well.
Brian and I bought presents for eachother this year. This is the first year out of the past couple that we exchanged gifts....and I have to say, we nailed it!! Brian bought me an awesome electric blue cast dutch oven!!! A nikon S8100!! and a hard-drive for all my photos! and I got him a Nook Color, Golden eye 007 for the Wii, and a top gun wallet. His Nook has been a process! We had to exchange 2 before the 3rd actually worked properly. But he pretty much is never off of it! and of course my camera is attatched to me as well so we were both spoiled tremendously. Something to really be thankful for. Not that we were spoiled, but thankful to not be sunken in debt and bills anymore, but to be above with savings and able to buy things if we decide. it feels amazing for once, to not be "drowning" and floating. so much less stress!
New years was very low key....we went out to dinner.... Cheeseburger In Paradise....i just have to say......YUM! and very fun! then we came home, got the kids in jammies, popped some sparkling cider, and we were done for the evening, and in bed by 9. Pathetic I know, but it felt nice. New years day, the wadleighs came for a snackie spread of mini burgers, dips and chips, homemade brushetta, pigs in a blanket, and drinks and champagne. we were still in bed before midnight, but it was more successful than actually ringing in the new years! hehe. To end our holiday festivities they in turn had us last night for the same snackie dinner and chit chat.
So all in all we have had a great start to 2011.
Sis is teething, she broke 1 tooth through but 2 for sure are waiting to follow. her little gums are swollen and she is so uncomfortable, but such a trooper! poor little gal! last night was a very restless night. she kept popping her arms out of her swaddle to bite on her fingers for pressure on those teeth, then inturn getting pissed off cause her arms were out. Hubby is going to be a very tired boy when he gets home from work. He had fire fighting training today and had to be at work at 4:30 so he left here at 4am. sis didnt sleep well and he did come to bed till almost midnight after fidgeting with his nook. by the way i think i am just babbling now. alright time to end this update!
